Peak adaptation! Carbon print copy of what happened at the end of the game (TLOU1).
For people who didn't get the hint. Ellie knows it and it will be tackled in the sequel just like what happened in the TLOU2 game.
Man, what I didn't like and hate in this episode was the extension of Elie's mom's background and how she was born, we don't need that info just like in the games where we don't see her mom and how she was born. And the specific why I don't like it is because how the VA Ellie in the game was killed in this version same as the VA of Joel in the last episode this is a clear Neil Druckman influence that guy is so bleak with how he treats the characters of this world like bringing up the VA of the game and ending up to being killed in this one. I F****** hated it, like you can just make them a cameo as a side character without killing them. This is why fans of the TLOU fanbase are split on how they see Druckman and his decision-making. (I'm on the side that hates him to what he did in TLOU2 game) That decision is so dumb where a veteran guy who lived and this world for many years like for more than 20 years (after the catastrophe) and suddenly trusted a bunch of strangers was such out of character from him. That is stupid writing and a dumb decision that he made he shouldn't have established that trait for him in the first game.
Correct me if I'm wrong that pocket knife was a gift from Joel (and not from her Mom) it is why important to Ellie, not from what we get in this version right?
And also Ellie's house (TLOU2 game) made an appearance as an easter egg in this episode for those who are familiar with the game it is where Ellie's mom died in this version.
They manage to nail this episode and the love story of Ellie's relationship with her bestie in this adaptive version of the DLC Last of Us 1 game. This has the same level of care and understanding of Ellie's sexuality just like what they did on another character in the previous episode 3.
so they revealed this season how Ellie will be dark character in the future. Again I love how dark Joel can be because of this current world that made him. And I didn't expect to be this early the introduction of canibal people like what in the game did where they confirm that these people exist only after the release of the sequel game.
it's not that bad
give me season 2 already if this is not a mini-series!
season 2 when?!
I'm hoping after 2 years we get the following season or sooner after this year. And they can already make spinoffs about this world where we can follow different vault dwellers going outside in their respective vaults similar to the games and follow their own story outside surface. (having at least same quality of writers like this one) They must have good writers:nerd: and interesting storylines if they make spinoffs. :cowboy::sunglasses:
What can I say they deliver this season. And it's a much better video game adaptation than Halo series (season 1) I haven't finished the first season 1 of that show. The writing here is much, much better than the other adaptation mentioned.
That's good conclusion for the first season. By the end I was like is that NV!?
And Mrs. Maclean's revelation was tragic it made me feel bad for our lead protagonist. Horrible father!
And in the end credit well they just confirm that it is NV!:star_struck:
Now we are getting into the good part. I complained about the lack of Goggins last episode and in this episode we got an entire episode dedicated (mostly him) outside the revelation at the end.
I love all the protagonists we are following. But an episode without Walton Goggins is cruel. Give me Walton even just a tiny scene where we check what he is doing and I'll be fine by that.
I love the Maclean little brother side plot having politics inside vault 33 and the conspiracy about their vault leaders (forgot the title). All of the plots that we follow are interesting to me. But I like the side plot of Maclean little brother a lot more, future vault leader 32?
Walton Goggins being casted in this series feels like home. It feels natural that he is part of this universe
The humor is there same as the game. And the Chicken guy scene
They nailed the vibe of the game
Nathan in a role that surprises me again being the voice of Steve Trevor of this DCAU Wonder Woman film
I was surprised with the end credit that Nathan Fillion was one of the voice actors and then it hit me that he's Hal Jordan in this film. As we know today that he has been casted as Guy Garner in Superman for DCU the turn around of him becoming a real-life Green Lantern
David Ayer film on steroid
well, I got 2 episodes that are perfect 5/5 stars from this season it was back-to-back episodes. The last 2 episodes were a little bit shaky on the writing side but still works on the story and how they played it out. And I respect the decision of how they ended it.
still one of the best netflix original series even with the last few episode of the series, it is still great with good story telling. There are episodes that will be 5/5 stars best TV episodes that look forward to. Highly recommend and enjoy the story, at first I'm Byrde's family team then last season happened then became full force Team Ruth (always rooting for Ruth in other season) (Julia Garner acting in this show is phenomenal everybody who is a fan of this show loves her) didn't care about other characters only Ruth. And I love the romance between Ruth and spoiler big fan of them and the guy's character and actor who portrays him.
Tragic ending for Ruth's character. I kinda wish she survives and be Jessie BB version on this one. She sacrificed so much and endured a lot of things to be ended that way.
Wendy looses it. She went psycho with her obsession for her ambitions.
Wendy is scaring me now
there you go he changed. Marty is a changed man after he killed one of the Lieutenants
I don't like where this going for Marty killing someone. That could change him
And I miss Ben's actor such a good actor. Always a fan of their romantic relationship with Ruth and his elder sister Wendy.
perfect episode opening for mid season finale of the series.
I thought that the jacket would be worn by either Jonah or Ruth and we got Ruth and I got a hunch feeling that they might kill Ruth and thank God they didn't.
Don't you dare kill Ruth!
The buildup to this episode and tension until the climax boom! Perfect.
When Ruth was walking out of the room after she killed the cartel and went to elevator I clapped hard cause the writing was exquisite!
What a mid-season finale at the time.
Julia Garner act ladies and gentlemen. Excellent performance from her again.
And I'm team Ruth full force now!
I guess that Ruth will lead the KC mob or at least the mob will ally themselves to Ruth.
Wendy's Dad: It was quieter with you gone. :) LOL!
it's been 4 or 5 years since I last saw the last season and I remember now that Ruth ex boyfriend really likes goats. Julia Garner acting in the opening scene was fantastic and it was top-notch writing to begin the episode.
fucking good writing and give mf Ruth her $100k dollars!
If I was Mat I would have poked my wife and teased her until she said goodbye to our son. So the son still knows that her mom loved her deeply even though they quarrel.
Also I loved Mat for being like a foster father towards Ruth after their business disagreement and other things happened to his brother-in-law.
Strong opening for a season finale.
Predictions:
1. At the end of this story Ruth will be the winner and be the biggest drug lord in the area
2. The Byrde family will be dysfunctional at the end where the kids will go down their separate ways and have bad blood to each other (destroying the bond they have as siblings).
3. One or both parents will die
4. Jonah will be the downfall of the family.
other things I don't care about:
Wyatt and the old woman will be killed by the cartel and also the cartel will die and some will be caught by the FBI.
