When you’re so desperate for diversity you have to steal an entire race’s culture while at the same time pretending said race doesn’t have any culture to begin with
lol, lmao
Netflix try not to blackwash or gayify historical figures challenge: difficulty level impossible
Nothing short of disgraceful
Honestly a very painful movie to watch, especially considering it deals with a real problem in my home country. I can’t say I had a good time watching this, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great movie, because it absolutely is. The acting is top notch, as is the story. The dancing segments (of which there are only a handful. so don’t let that hold you back) felt out of place, like a couple of hip hop videoclips embedded into a drama movie, well made and choreographed, but imo they didn’t fit in with the rest of the film. Overall I would recommend this one.
Fake “reality tv” garbage. You need the patient of a saint to sit through this dragged out boring waste of bandwidth. I’d rather watch paint dry
30 years old and still as good as it was on release.
And yet the amount of low iq whining in the comments here is astonishing. Yet another lesson on why it’s often not a good idea to expose yourself to the vocal minority and their asinine ramblings. “Wahhh I’m a self-professed genius and this movie was totally predictable, mediocre at best” stfu and go watch some more marvel slop, you absolute clowns.
This show is in my all time top 5 comedies, but they really butchered distribution of this amazing series, what the actual F….
Disney+ only has the first 3 seasons
Netflix has all seasons but the first 3 don’t have subtitles due to “licensing”
The season 4 remix (fateful consequences) is the default 4th season on Netflix
And if you want to watch the original 4th season, it’s also on Netflix but it’s tucked away under “trailers and extras” and you can’t even play it like a regular season, you have to manually go into trailers and extras and select the individual episodes, meaning Netflix also doesn’t track which ones you’ve watched.
All that to say, I finally discovered that season 4 is hidden away on Netflix, always having assumed that the remix (fateful consequences) was just the reboot of the show, which it’s not. So my trakt history is also messed up, not going to try and fix it but still, what a mess.
:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:This show really deserves better than to be treated like a child stuck in a custody battle between two moronic parents who don’t give a damn about the impact on the kid.:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:
This is a 10 for me. I knew a lot of their viral songs from when the series first came out, but never got to watching the actual episodes.
Now in 2023 I finally have easy access to the series and I’m so happy I watched it, it goes straight into my top 10 comedy series. Absolutely brilliant.
The humor is on another level entirely, doesn’t matter whether it’s clever puns, prop humor, slapstick or dad jokes, the perfect delivery and timing from these two result in heartfelt laughter every single episode
A must watch, and definitely one I’ll be recommending!
When are we getting a documentary on the Holodomor? Oh right, we can’t portray the eternal victims in a bad light, silly of me to keep forgetting that.
One of the cringiest episodes of any show I’ve ever watched, I skip this one even if I have The Simpsons playing on the background
Mel Brooks in combination with Gene wilder, and later Leslie Nielsen, was absolute gold, the stuff they produced together is still hilarious to this day, and personally, my gold standard when it comes to comedy.
This modern attempt at doing something similar falls completely flat however, and I simply don’t believe there is a modern actor up to par to deliver what guys like Gene Wilder and Leslie Nielsen were capable of doing. The only actor in this show who has any potential to coming close to it, would be Danny DeVito, and he is completely underutilised here, which is a real shame.
Painfully boring episode. I tuned out completely, no idea if I missed anything of value
Impressions after watching the first episode:
Netflix tries to sell this as “co-created” by the creators of Norsemen, so naturally, being a huge Norsemen fan (one of the funniest shows on Netflix, in case you haven’t seen it yet), I put this series on the top of my watchlist.
Episode 1 left me unimpressed. There were perhaps 2-3 chuckle-worthy moments, but that’s about it when it comes to the comedy aspect.
We get a glimpse of the criminality aspect in this first episode, and this part felt at least potentially promising.
Unfortunately though, the animation style is beyond bland. I’m fully convinced by now that these production studios all churning out these identical looking animated series, are using plug and play software to turn animating into an industrial process rather than an art, which is very unfortunate. Without going too deep into the animation style here, I am in no way inclined to keep watching an animated series if the animation is lazily made with nothing of interest going on visually. It all looks the same, hastily made to serve as the vehicle for the story and the jokes, both of which are lacking as well.
The only highlight for me personally was Adam Devine voicing Jonathan’s brother. So not a whole lot.
All in all, I’ll give ep 2 a chance, but with a bland animation style, and severely lacking comedy, I’m not really expecting to get sucked in.
One of my fav episodes, filled to the brim with absurdity and I love it! Uncle jack’s hands have me dying every damn time, so good
“Did you mess with it? Did you come in it? DID YOU COME IN MY BURRITO?”
That’s the first clip I ever saw from IASIP, a friend showed it to me on youtube and it’s what got me into IASIP. Still has me rolling every damn time I watch it
What is your spaghetti policy here?
One of the most boring movies I’ve seen in a very long time
Lady gaga? Really? Wait and see I guess but I’m not holding my breath.
Dumb childish jokes, bad cgi and effects, a weak stoy
9/10
Seriously though if you enjoy parodies this is a great and unique one, repurposing an old kung fu movie by badly dubbing and editing over scenes in addition to adding in some new bits of footage.
Fond memories of this movie, one of my favourites as a little boy. A beautifully animated funny story with a happy ending.
Highly recommended for children!
Loved this movie and felt like it spoke to me on a deeply personal level, and I suspect I’m not alone in feeling this way. Life can pass you by when you’re stuck living in your head, and although this movie takes “living life” quite to the extreme (I wouldn’t visit ungoverned Afghanistan or get close to an erupting volcano), the message is clear: take the jump, do the thing, life begins outside of your comfort zone.
Wow, just… wow. Wes Anderson is absolutely brilliant. This is a visual masterpiece, stunning from start to finish, with a great story to boot. Amazing voice acting cast as well. 10/10, A must watch in my opinion.
Dog lovers, unite!
Niveau nihil, exactly what you’d expect from VTM fiction. Gone are the days of Matroesjka’s glory.
If this piques your interest because of the good cast, don’t bother, since no amount of AAA actors can salvage this circus. Unfortunate since it looks promising on paper but epicly fails to deliver.
Bad start to a new season
One of the most iconic episodes, with the most iconic scene from IASIP: the Charlie conspiracy meme
Overall just a hilarious episode
So ehh, Netflix has this in their catalog, while the entire Oats Studios collection is available to watch for free on Youtube, so idk wtf Netflix thinks they’re pulling here but it’s ridiculous. The fact that Netflix thought it was a good idea to put this in their catalog with episodes missing (ADAM chapter 1 just straight up isn’t listen on Netflix…) makes it even worse. A paid streaming service that offers it’s viewers content that they could get for free on Youtube, what a world lmao. I hope Oats got a licensing fee for this, but still, seeing how content is missing and I could just watch on Youtube instead, it seems incredibly scummy to put free content on a paying platform lol
As for the actual content: there’s definitely some good stuff in here. It’s kinda hit or miss imo, but some cool concepts and some fantastic visuals for sure! 2 or 3 shorts made me think “damn, this should be a full length movie” so that says a lot.
Visually very good. Great atmosphere and pretty unsettling overall. Unfortunate that the ending made no sense at all though.
First two chapters were interesting, but this one is just all-round bad. An uninspired parody/twist on oldschool american telemarketing shows. We get it, hair in food is disgusting, but it doesn’t make for good “horror”, not in the slightest. Good thing this episode was relatively short.
The amount of negative comments is completely unwarranted and makes me think that all these supposed “Ricky Gervais fans” who just really hated the movie are simply pretending to be fans to turn others off from watching the film. This is not a bad movie at all.
Sure, it’s not quite on Gervais’ usual level of comedy, but it’s a fun watch nonetheless. Not a boring moment in the film, compared to many dozens of praised blockbuster films that I struggled to even finish. 8/10 from me.
Very funny self-aware comedy. Definitely recommend this one
A movie like this just really should not be softened up to make it pg13. The “violence” is so incredibly tame it makes the action scenes bland and predictable. Carnage as a villain is such a fantastic character, but the potential is completely left in the bottle. I don’t think a single drop of (visible) blood is spilled in this movie, which is honestly just hilarious in my opinion. A psychopathic serial killer merges with a violent symbiotic alien and there’s no gore, no bloody messes, no brutality, nothing.
Nothing else this movie has to offer makes up for it’s tameness either, so I can’t really recommend this unless you just want to watch a generic monster action movie that doesn’t trigger a single emotion.
