The Beekeeper

Brutal action. Absolutely fantastic! :fire:

I have no idea what I just watched.

Hypnotic

Really surprised this isn't a straight to streaming movie, however; it has a fantastic cast, decent premise and mediocre budget. Worth watching, but don't expect too much.

Tetris

Absolutely enthralling! A superbly well made, interesting and fantastic movie that brings such an unknown story to life.

Cocaine Bear

A surprisingly enjoyable, funny, short movie. A film called "Cocaine Bear" isn't going to give you the biggest expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself chuckling away with a huge grin on my face throughout. Some wonderfully gory moments with enough of a plot to keep you entertained!

Babylon

What did I just watch? Literally no idea what the plot was. But it was pretty to the eyes and the music was surprisingly catchy.

Kindergarten Cop 2

Kindergarten Cop doesn’t have a sequel, this movie doesn’t exist and there’s no reason anyone should ever consider watching it.

Three Thousand Years of Longing

A boring, glorified love story that never really delivers anything. There are some interesting scenes, but they are few and far between and last for 10 seconds in a nearly 2 hour film. The story is interesting, but sadly has about as much substance as wafer thin ham. This is one for you to stream at home, so you can turn it off after 10 minutes and watch something more enjoyable.

A remarkably average, slow and boring film with a few dystopian elements. The plot doesn’t go anywhere but somehow the movie keeps going on and on. Once it ends your left with absolutely no idea what any of it meant, unless you look deep within and decide it was some metaphor. I can’t think of anyone I’d recommend this to. It wasn’t scary enough to be a horror, weird enough to be dystopian, interesting enough to be sci-fi.

Bullet Train

A fun thriller with interesting twists and a solid cast. It's a solid entertaining way to spend a couple of hours but probably not worth a re-watch in the future.

Uncharted

This is a fantastic adaptation of Uncharted. A truly cinematic experience that stays, for the most part, true to the games.

The cinematography of the opening intro, sequential flash-back and continuation of the film is particularly brilliant. This is a true homage to the structure of the games and captures it particularly well.

The action sequences are fun and sometimes ridiculous, but the soundtrack and Nolan North’s cameo really seal the deal for me.

There are, however, some divergencies from the games which will harm the reception received from fans.

Moonfall

As far as disaster movies go, this is a very entertaining one with an intriguing plot. There is, as expected, a lot of nonsense in regards to the circumstances that lands our lead characters at the heart of the issue. However, the ending is surprising and provides a welcome science fiction approach.

Monster Hunter

A fun action movie where Milla Jovovich hunts monsters. Set in a beautifully dystopian world with action throughout it's a fun and enjoyable experience. The only negative is that instead of explaining the world and ending the story suitably, they are betting on a sequel instead.

Doomsday

Tenet

A mind bending thriller that brings out the best in Nolan. A movie that allows you to remember what you’ve already seen, in a way the allows you to experience the reality of the situation in your own time. Only once you understand what’s going on does it start to fall into place, but don’t get me wrong it’s certainly not a walk in the park.

This is a visually stunning, conceptually brilliant masterpiece that people will love for many years to come. But it is also one that you need to watch multiple times to fully appreciate.

Breathtaking and outstanding, well worth a watch if you enjoyed Nolan’s previous offerings. My only gripe is that the soundtrack was distinctly not Hans Zimmer. This film needed him to add the edge, instead the score can feel a little lacklustre at times where great immensity should have been.

Give it a go, and thank me yesterday.

Running with the Devil

This was an interesting film with a lot of promise. But after 30 mins you're still not really sure what's happening. Slow and boring, not worth watching.

Line of Duty

A high octane thriller that hosts a generous amount of action from start to finish. A worthy watch and an excellent film.

Operator

An average, easily forgettable film which doesn't achieve anything amazing. The CGI is quite poor and the acting is questionable, but the overall story is decent. It's only an hour and a half long, but that doesn't stop it dragging on a bit too long without really going anywhere. However, it is thrilling trying to work out what is happening and it does deliver a few surprises along the way.

It's interesting how this is based on a true story, however a poor execution leaves much to be desired. This is a slow, tiring movie that never really delivers and always appears to drag on a little too long. It's fun and there's a decent cast but after an hour it gets old.

Anna and the Apocalypse

This was a really good movie. Unfortunately, it is set at Christmas which limits the time it can be viewed. However, the setting isn't significant to the story, nor does it distract from the plot - if you're a veteran of the zombie-verse give it a go any time of year. The acting is fun and the songs are a welcome surprise. Ella Hunt is a cute girl from school caught in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, there is love, loss and resolve. One of my favourite zombie movies I've seen and it's appeared to fly under the radar. Worth taking a look at!

The Darkest Minds

This was a good film with some fantastic cinematography and amazing visuals. It is let down, by the desire to make the idea into a series and fails in the same way The 5th Wave and The Divergent Series have. The problem with making films from books is that the readers spend their time building the universe being described. With films, that world is given to them, so the viewer needs something else to spend their time progressing with. Unfortunately, this film doesn't even attempt to provide a substantial amount of action and instead opts for narrative and story. The result is a fairly slow, albeit enjoyable, film without anything significant to offer. Instead, it just feels like they spent their time working on a way to create it into a series - and fails. Worth a watch, just don't expect there to be a true ending.

The Dead Don't Die

This was a slow, boring and poor entry to the zombie movie-verse. It has Bill Murray, a whole host of quality cast (and of course a smoking hot Selena Gomez). However, it drags on without a plot for far too long. The characters make stupid decisions and die. There's a random alien section for no reason. And the comedy aspects don't even make sense half the time .This film is just a lot of things happening for no reason for 100 minutes. Save yourself the trouble and avoid it.

This was a pretty rubbish movie, I would not watch it again. However, given the fact that it's DC, I didn't have high hopes anyway. Don't get me wrong, the cinematography and score are brilliant and bring this movie to life. But unfortunately, the DC writers still haven't figured out how to make a decent film. It seems to drag on a bit long and doesn't really go anywhere until the end, which is a shame because the character has a lot of potential for development. Instead, we get the same person who doesn't really change and instead becomes exactly what we already know. It's a shame really, because the acting, setting and idea was fantastic just let down by DCs lack of direction and imagination.

Rambo: Last Blood

This is a fantastic, brutal action movie with explosions, gore and Rambo being Rambo. The cinematography takes vibes from Taken, Death Wish and Sicario, and it works well. The pacing is decent and at only 90 minutes it doesn't drag which can happen in these films. If you like action, a little bit of plot and everyone getting brutally murdered - this is the film for you. Definitely worth a watch on the big screen!

Ad Astra

A slow and painful movie that starts off impressive, but the novelty soon wears off. The cast is good and the special effects are very immersive, however the whole movie is just a series of random scenes with a very loose connection. With Interstellar we got an epic space adventure, the martian gave us a bit of humour and hope for survival. I honestly don't even know what the subtext for this story is about. What I can tell you is this: Brad Pitt is an astronaut. He goes to space to discover something ridiculously obvious. Some bad things happen for absolutely no reason with no explanation and no follow up. The film ends. Wouldn't recommend even if it lands on a streaming site.

Angel Has Fallen

A high octane action movie with plenty of explosions, gunshots and the classic "has fallen" vibe. Gerald Butler reprises his role once again as the elite Secret Service agent, and he makes it work all the same! The story is relatively predictable, but that doesn't distract from the fact this is a fantastic movie. Loved it and recommend it - a must see!

Molly's Game

This is an interesting movie. This is a story lead film, with a fantastic cast and beautiful production. It's a high quality movie that draws you in deeper and deeper. This might be nearly 2.5 hours, but the film never drags or feels slow. If you enjoy true stories, this is definitely a movie for you.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum

A high octane thriller that stays true to its origins. Keanu Reeves rocks Wick once again as violence catches up with him. The cinematography is amazing and the action is top notch. If you enjoyed the first two, you'll enjoy this.
