Game of Thrones: 8x01 Winterfell

"Waiting for an old friend".

Damn you Three-Eyed Raven!

Is there a word for when you're relieved, happy and a bit sad, all at once?

For me, the best shows are the ones that leave you wanting more, and this will definitely be the case here. The story is finished in a satisfactory way but I also think that the side characters were so entertaining that their stories could have been told as well. At the same time I'm also relieved these stories weren't told since it's hard to keep it balanced in a way that it doesn't start to drag on for too long, meaning that the show gets to fade to black at its peak.

Thanks to everyone involved that made this happen - even Netflix, for listening to reason and not denying us a proper farewell.

Game of Thrones: 8x03 The Long Night

Arya for the win!

I've never had more fun being wrong predicitions-wise.

Theon's arc was perfect, dying at "home" as "a good man". Not to mention that Legolas-tier kill ratio.

- How'd she look? (...) No, I mean, like, what was she wearing?

Holden, do not put your dick in it. It's fucked enough already.

Chrisjen really is the star of the show isn't she?

Station Eleven: 1x10 Unbroken Circle

For a moment there I thought they wouldn't... I daresay that that was perfect. At first I thought both Kirsten and Jeevan weren't effusive enough, but the more I thought about it, it makes perfect sense since they both seem guilty about how the things between them were going before they parted ways, so they're happy at being reunited but everything else didn't just disappear, and it's still a bit awkward until that final moment when they both seem content, so they can part ways having lifted a weight off their shoulders. :relieved:

And then there's Miranda... I wonder how she'd feel about her life's work having so much impact, but perhaps more importantly, I wonder where the other copies ended up.

Well, shit. They don't call this show mindblowing for nothing.

Game of Thrones: 8x06 The Iron Throne

Apart from the final stretch that led to the events of the previous episode, I wouldn't change a thing. It was the perfect ending to a great show - for me, one of the greatest.

It's sad to see it go but damn, it was worth every minute spent watching it as well as discussing it.

Hopefully at least one of the spin-offs will come to life a few years down the road and if they manage to capture even a glimpse of the feeling that this one had, it'll be pure nostalgia.

That must have been a blast for Sterling K. Brown. Being opposite Andre Braugher, it could only have been better had it been a Homicide reboot instead, although it being a lighthearted show must have had its perks as well.

Damn Jules giving me anxiety by going to all these places alone... That forest looked like the perfect scenario for an episode of Cold Case.

That coded chat! LOL

Overall, a good mix between how depressive things have been and the crazy that's about to be unleashed.

Ted Lasso: 3x09 La Locker Room Aux Folles

Truly great episode. Though now that I know the episode's title I'm wondering if it refers to anything beyond someone having to pretend in order to shield themselves from others. In any case, I kinda assumed that's what Isaac had a problem with but they still managed to make the twist interesting and emotional with the whole "we don't care but we do care".

Roy has been giving hints that Ted has rubbed off on him a lot and this episode was no different. Now I guess he really only needs to try and make things right with Keeley (regardless if they actually get back together) and take over after Ted to complete his arc, if they really end the show this season that is.

Nate seems to have come to a crossroads and chose wisely, but hopefully that means he could finally start to circle back. Having now personally slighted Rupert, I think it's clear his days at West Ham are numbered. I can't get a read on sphinx Jade but "it's worthwhile to meet you" was a great line.

Also, Sam and Jamie's little exchange over the armband.

This Is Us: 6x18 Us

I don't think we could've asked for a better wrap-up. The whole "circle of life" was very good, and while it was a bit sad to see them coming to the realization that it's the end of an era, each of them seems to be in a good place in their personal lives.

I'm sad we won't see these characters anymore but I'm completely satisfied with how their stories turned out.

There's nothing a comeback won't do... except healing you marriage, I guess.

Good mix of emotion and comedy there, and good on them for doing a proper "Hail Mary" rather than the disturbingly frequent "buzzer goal". :expressionless:

I hadn't anticipated it would be this good, we're off to a great start. Maybe the characters help, but I didn't feel like I was being dragged around to take a look at each character's origin, even though it was exactly what happened. The story just flowed. And then there's the great cast...

Now that was a fun U-turn! I was beginning to worry about where they were going with this humanizing arc for Jules-Pierre.

The Handmaid's Tale: 1x06 A Woman's Place

I think everyone "knew" we were being toyed with when the idea that external help would be within reach was flaunted but I liked how that helped with the next revelations, that some countries might be just as desperate, and that the assumption that her husband had died turned out to be wrong.

I'm excited to see how she's going to react and hoping to see more of the "Resistance" soon.

Holy shit! Did they perform a clitoridectomy on Ofglen?

I have to say that while I'm enjoying the story, it's also getting me antsy. I can't shake the idea that not everyone that deserves some sort of punishment will get it, and even then I don't know in what way can these people, specially these women, be rewarded in a way that I can count as a 'win' and it worries me.

The Handmaid's Tale: 3x10 Witness

Now we're talking! I especially liked how everyone around June acknowledges how risky the idea is and how she's fresh out of fucks to give. Hopefully Lawrence won't get cold feet once he realizes the enormity of what she's proposing.

And I'm guessing this will be Serena's last mistake. She went for broke while completely ignoring how spineless Fred is and has always been. Given the choice between having power and having a family, knowing what we know about him, betting on 'family' seems crazy... Then again, Gilead is partially her vision, so I shouldn't put it past her.

It's a nice parallel, two husbands being put on the spot and having to choose between their statuses or their wives and their happiness/well-being.

The next callback that should make an appearance has to be Nick and his campaign, right?

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: 2x10 Nice Jacket

We need Dirk on the case to find the interconnectedness that screws over good shows like this one in favor of the same stupid garbage that gets to prosper.

I guess the one good thing is that I won't have to hate on another character played by Mpho Koaho solely because of stupid decisions. Falling Skies was too much already.
