First I thought: "At least it's better than Cleopatra 2525!". Then I thought: "No, Cleopstra 2525 is actually better." Next I thought: "Well, it might get better if I keep watching?" It did not...
Usually you expect a remake to be made in order to give a new or different view on the story, update it or just do it better. None of that applies here.
It was the exact same script (the original is ok), the exact same music (the original score by Bernard Hermann is masterfull), the exact same scenes, angles and decor, shot-by-shot. Just different actors and now in color. The only changes were a few touches of vulgarity.
Maybe this is meant as an homage, but comes of as rather pointless. Changing actors for another performance of a play works, but seems strange here.
No point to watch this. Watch the original instead.
