Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is a great proof of concept. This is literally Marvel's 'What If' show with Scott Pilgrim instead of Marvel Superheros. The animation is marvelous. The story...it's simply not Scott Pilgrim. In the years in the future, when I will fell like it's time to rewatch THE Scott Pilgrim story, I am sure as hell not going to re-watch this. I feel that the marketing on this was misleading. I understand the problematics on spending millions on a story already told twice could be a risk, but then do not market it as such. Everyone was expecting this to be 1:1 from the comic. It's not. It's very not. It's an experiment. It's a What If. It's a proof of concept. Which is totally fine, but then market it as such.

Hate to be that guy but that scene towards the end with Shane "appearing" on Cassie's flight is total bs. Flight attendants, before even going to the plane, meet up in the airport together with the flight crew, usually in a office called crew room to discuss the day ahead (destination, weather, passengers, etc). You just don't show up in the plane for work as an FA and just casually meet colleagues while onboard lol.
Anybody else feels that the side plot of the colleague and the NK government is going to be a huge dead end that is there just as a filler? We are one episode out of the Finale and it fits nowhere in the story. It might be a cut from another TV show so much is fitting!

This season of Shameless has been shot in the middle of the COVID pandemic: extensive use of face masks (in the correct and stupid way, as IRL), BLM graffiti everywhere, there are talks about first lockdown and second lockdown, a female mayor in Chicago and some specific Chicago only rules that were a thing this summer. Overall its clear that the 'VID is doing the heavy lifting of the plot here (and it will for the whole S11), while in the past seasons everything was in the writers hands, sometimes with ups and downs. This is a big help for an 11 years old TV show. Yet I can't help myself smiling when I get sent back to the world of Gallaghers and I really can't wait for the next episode.
