I was excited to see the Ghost Brothers in this episode! It's so rare to see Black ghost hunters, so any time is a treat. Plus, they are hilarious, #fortheculture, and not afraid to be afraid, bringing a unique perspective and take on the ghost-hunting genre.

At the end of the first arc (epi 1-6 ( Vol 1)), I was excited to see where they were going with Oliver and his quest for revenge. The story finally felt like it had a real direction. The second arc felt somewhat all over the place, even more so than the first. It felt rushed, and the ending tried to make you excited about Oliver's revenge but we needed more of that story throughout. I thought I found a hidden gem but just somewhat of a let down. I am kinda curious to see if the actual mangas are better.

Special is called: I'm Bad at Sex"
OMG, Ms. Pat! It went from funny to sad to embarrassing
Very interesting at 35:50 of the show
The movie, Interview with the Vampire, has always been a fav. After the first episode, I immediately nearly forgot the movie and fell in love with Anderson's Louis and Reid's Lestat. Everything about Rolin Jones' interpretation feels right. The era change, the age differences for Claudia, having Louis be Black. Top notch story-telling so far. Looking forward to following this story.
What a treat, this series. A few timeline adjustments to focus on the more significant story points for Catherine but intriguing nonetheless. If you hadn't heard of Catherine de Medici before, you will now. This show is a vibe with an excellent cast. Liv Hill as young Catherine is truly a treat and she owned that role. There needed to be more of her. Sennia Nanua standing tall and holding her own. As usual, Samantha Morton was her great self as well.
Given the Chibnall of it all, it was an ok send-off. I wasn't expecting to tear up but regenerations tend to be emotional. I wish Jodie's era had better showrunners so Thirteen could really spread her wings but Jodie was brilliant in what she was given.
Firstly, can someone explain the change of clothes with the regenerations now? Bc WTH?! But it was really good to see Tennant and Ten again. Enjoyed parts of Sacha's Master performance. Didn't understand the comings, goings, or lack of some of Thirteen's companions. Was good to see Vinder again but he felt underused. Again, because Chibnall-ness reasons, there was not enough of The Doctor despite the episode having many past doctors come in. The episode was good fan service for classic Whovians and had callbacks for some new era Who as well. I did like how Ace and Tegan were able to interact with their Doctors again. Almost expected to see Graham and Ace instead of Dan and Graham at the end. But the support group was nice.

Very interesting movie with a terrifying premise. This was a movie about how a character's specific view drives decisions. Worth the watch and a few rewatches. The movie was very enjoyable and had jump scares, funny bits, WTF, and tense moments. Could and will rewatch and Nope feels probably the most typical horror of all his movies. The last shot of that creature was beautiful. Beautifully scary.
At first, I thought the movie fumbled a bit on questions raised in the first two acts that were not answered but these were my questions coming from a typical horror movie view. Nope combines and plays on the viewers' ideas of predator and prey for an exciting twist in a movie about proof, understanding, and choices. There are still some 'why' or 'how' questions that I would want answered but considering many horror movies don't explain why certain things happen, this movie is on par for the genre.
Kaluuya's OJ felt a bit flat but that could be due to trying to portray what was meant to be that old-school Western stoic, thoughtful, and perceptive character, IMO. Palmer's Em was a good contrast for the siblings and she shined in the role. Yeun was great and Jupe's backstory, wowza. Loved the conspiracy vibes of Perea's Angel and how he was nearly immediately on board. This was a brilliant movie.
What?! What is this movie... Maybe it could have been better if it was not titled Persuasion or meant to be Austen.
I'm not sure what the goal was here but if it was to make Anne nearly dislikable, they have succeeded. Not sure what was up with Wentworth but at least there you have some type of pinning. But then also, it was like they made him nearly too sad or something. Anne & Wentworth both felt miscast with Dakota and Jarvis. Neither gave the type of miserable or toying longing needed for those characters and the story. Or maybe that could have been down to the writing or direction as well. Props for trying to add in diversity with some of the other players - especially the casting of Golding as Mr. Eliot. However, some of the interactions between the characters felt as if they had been changed and thus changing the dynamic, integrity and many points for the purpose of the movie.
In trying to modernize, they do this fourth-wall style that ruins the beauty of Austen's words at times and borders on antagonizing the rest of the time. Not that the style cannot work, but the writing/direction here was just wrong. It was as if they were telling the audience something and playing it out with commentary as if we cannot or would not gather the details, personalities, or characteristics otherwise, and they again, changed the purposes for our main love interests.
Persuasion is already a slow churn, but this somehow made it worse. It was as if they focused on all the wrong elements at all the wrong times, and simply wanted to make a movie that was not Austen's Persuassion. The shots of the buildings were good I guess.
6.75/10: It accomplished what it set out to do without a lot of frills. You get 70s stranger danger, jump scares, and even some laughs. It's a good movie and worth a theater watch. The mask helped Ethan Hawke be brilliantly terrifying. Great sibling and other children connections to make everything count. The sister, Gwen, was hilarious and Madeleine McGraw's star will continue to rise.
Perhaps too cynical but kept waiting for the trick or the trap. I thought more was incoming or maybe I wanted to know more than it was willing the give. Somewhat conflicted but not in a terrible way with the ending. Like I'm glad he won and got out, but it seemed it ended too happy for it to have been a horror movie, lol, if that makes sense. Like, guess too used to everyone having a vibe at the end like they know they'll be in therapy.
Enjoyed the movie and this series seems that it will touch on more, go deeper, and be even more heartfelt with more time to do so. As a Doctor Who and Sherlock fan, all I can say is Moffat!
Ummmm.... what in the what?! It tried but in like the barest sense to push boundaries.
This was such a 'WOW' episode. Family secrets so strong, the dead couldn't even recognize or see each other in death. Or maybe they didn't want to. An avoided conversation maybe. The spirit box session was so real. It feels weird to say therapeutic, but it was sort of the start of ghost therapy. As soon as I typed that, I had a thought that someone would someday turn that into a show of some sorts lol

The concept was brilliant but it felt lacking. Like the movie, I go both forward and backward in my thoughts on the film. I did enjoy the time travel loop and I watched it twice just to catch the bits I may have missed the first time. Enjoyed it a bit less the second time after feeling the first time was intriguingly ok. It could have been so much better or maybe I'll like it better the next time through. The characters' motivations were lacking and underdeveloped. Even the explanation for why was lacking and somewhat ridiculous. Perhaps that was the point, however, the focus is on the loop and time travel, pre-destiny, so the lacking details don't matter. Maybe this should have been a series where they could have more time so the payoff and explanations were better. I assume that some points that were then meant to be surprising revelations when they come back around were actually duh moments. However, they did work for action points. Those were beautiful and attention-grabbing but even here it could have been more but not sure what. The last fight was somewhat confusing but still interesting in the forward and backward elements. What happened, happened and even The Protagonist seemed bored at one point or simply going about the motions to see it play out as if he figured it out sooner but still wanted to see for himself. I did enjoy Neil and his cycle. First run, I did have the feels when you realize.
Fix the sound! The action was sooo loud and the talking low in comparison.
Oh and let's just also point out that this movie does not pass the Bechdel test. And only had three people of color. I do appreciate that the main was a POC, however.
Blind judging. Good choice again
They should have been started blind judging. Esp to start to get early bad seeds out. Plus no teams or vet coaches, right on! or gimmicks like 3 artists on one canvas
The episodes are out of order according to Discovery+. And there were only 8 episodes in S2
Would have liked to see where this would have gone. Especially so bc of the abrupt end.
The newest version of Destination Truth or Fact or Faked but missing that something that just made those shows work a bit better. That said, watched both seasons. Maybe for background or a completist.
Season 1 was pretty ok but found season 2 somewhat annoying.
