I don't know what someone dying from radiation poisoning looks like, but what they showed this episode was absolutely terrifying. They looked like they were liquefying from the inside out. Also, the description itself was super unsettling. How crazy is it that energy can literally make your cells break apart?
Each episode I watch makes want to learn more and more about the true story. As a scientist myself, I find it so interesting and compelling. And I can't help wondering what we could do differently if something like this happened tomorrow. Would we act quicker? Is there a better way of containing a nuclear disaster? Everything considered, and if what they've presented in the show so far is true, the Chernobyl accident wasn't nearly as devastating as it could have been.
My feelings about Serena are so drastically contradictory. On the one hand, I love her. She's a strong, smart, confident woman and I cheer when she stands up for herself. On the other hand, she's helping promote these horrible ideals and standards that belittle women and keep them oppressed (herself included) Girl, what are you doing?
Also, people do such horrible, monstrous things in the name of God and religion. And not only in fiction, but in reality too. Such savages. And such hypocrites. Making up any sort of excuses to justify all their wrongdoings and suit their own needs and interests.
But I loved that Canada is depicted as the place where people are rational and kind, in opposition to the crazies that have control of the US. I wonder if the writers did that on purpose or if it's like that in the book . Maybe the author of the book had some kind of premonition LOL
What was up with that last shot being done with a hand held camera? All the shaking was so jarring and awful.
Townes showing up again was a nice touch. And all the guys getting together back home to brainstorm and help her out was SO sweet! .
Lovely series. I don't even know how to play chess, but I really enjoyed it.
A strangely hopeful and sort of happy ending for a scary story, nonetheless, a great ending to a pretty good show.
Worst episode of the season so far. Like, really. It was all just so pointless.
Dani destroyed all the ships, she destroyed the walls and all the scorpions. Just blast the castle to hell (with Cersei inside of it) and be done with the whole thing.
Why kill all the citizens and burn the whole city to the ground? This was the place you wanted to rule and now there's little more than ruins left. Even the throne most likely melted into a puddle of metal and is buried under a ton of rubble by this point.
Cersei had such a lame death. I expected Joffrey's-death-level satisfaction. I want my money back.
And I can't help but think after seeing so much destruction, so much war, blood and death Arya is finally over fighting. She's done. And she'll be ready to start a new, peaceful and happy chapter of her life maybe even as a married woman.
Also, why even give Jaime a redemption arc at all if in the end he's gonna go back to sucking? Why?
How are the kids still so stupid as to give non-Locke people keys? It's like they haven't learned anything! Ellie didn't need to take the shadow key to go get the crown. So stupid.
"Hello, darkness, my old friend" sooooo lame. I can't believe they actually wrote that in.
Honestly, I was scared the whole act she'd slip up out of nerves and reveal to all of Harlem about Shy being gay. But she didn't. She did amazing. And then, insecure, paranoid Shy kicks her out of the tour after all the times she was there for him when he needed it? What an ungrateful child. He was not a very good singer, anyways.
I mean, Jonas wouldn't be the only guy on TV who has a thing for his aunt #justsaying
Also, what's up with this show and people just casually standing under downpours? Like, not only does it rain a crazy amount in that town, but people just love standing outside without even wearing waterproof clothes. Do they enjoy getting soaked? What's up with that?
And what's up with Franziska? She has so much anger inside of her.
Lagertha's been my favorite character since day one. Good for her for leaving Ragnar's unfaithful, idiotic ass. She's much too good for him. And good for Bjorn for leaving with his mother.
Don't worry children, Raven will save you all.
Also, Abby, don't be dense. One of the 1200 people that will be living in the bunker for the next 5 years is bound to need a doctor at some point. We don't care that you feel guilty about experimenting on people with nightblood and radiation, you stay down there.
Why is Jaha not dead yet? And why do people still think he's trustworthy? (dude, don't leave your kid with Jaha, he'll feed it to an ocean monster if it means saving himself)
Jaha tried to orchestrate a rebellion that would have gotten all the sky people killed. He's not a good leader!!!! And acting all self righteous about saving his people when he spent years floating them while they were in space? Why don't you take your hypocritical comments and go stay outside with the radiation wave, hmm?
Grant Gustin should have been given the role of Barry. I mean, he's doing a wonderful job on the show and is a terrific actor. Why create this huge chasm between the TV and cinematic universe by casting different actors for the same character, when there's already a great Barry that everyone loves?
Where When did Jonas go?
Talk about tension filled! Holy crap that was intense!! But then again, it's been an all around intense season. SO. DAMN. GOOD!
I hate that we'll have to wait until next season to get more of this crazy good, insane universe. And some answers to very pressing questions, such as:
1) Where the hell are Raven, Bellamy & Co.? Are they still in space or have they been roaming the earth looking for survivors for a year?
2) Who the hell is Maddie and where did Clarke find her?? Also, she's a nightblood? WHAT'S GOING ON?!
3) What happened to the people in the bunker? Did they make it? Are they trapped with no way out?
4) Not really a question, but... Clarke's red hair is back! And in a much more flattering way than what she was rocking at the beginning of the season!! The short hair really suits her too. It makes her look really mature.
5) Where did the "prisoners" ship come from?? Why are they hunting what little remains of the human race down? Is Jaha behind this?
6) Will season 5 be the season where the Bellarke ship flourishes?
It's an ok show.
For my taste, it was too much like a parody sometimes. Lots of clichés and stereotypes, lots of over the top (quite frankly not very good) acting, lots of dumb jokes.
In this same quick, comedic style, Younger is a much better show. And fashion wise, I'd stick with The Bold Type, or even the timeless Devil Wears Prada.
The potential was there, but the execution was sloppy. I hope they get better writers if it gets picked up for a second season.
It's awesome that this season premiered almost exactly the same day the beginning of the pilot was set on.
Crazy that Elizabeth is the leader in 2052. Wouldn't have expected that. And the girl who was translating looks a whole lot like 1986 Hannah for some reason.
Jonas is still very much into his aunt, apparently (and we got another season premiere gratuitous sex scene).
Franziska is still hiding shit, which now also somehow includes the prostitute, who is related to one-eyed cop (btw were we ever told what happened to his eye?).
And we went even farther into the past! This show is spanning a time period of more than 100 years right now! Insane.
OMG sooo many different generations! I'm starting to lose track. There's just too many people, who are in one way or another somehow related to each other.
The casting team deserves a standing ovation, though. All the different people who play the same character look remarkably similar! Amazing job, really.
Nice try show! But I'm not buying what you're selling. Murphy's come such a long way. He's moved way past being a selfish, self serving asshole. He cares too much about his friends to betray them like that. Plus, the writers of this show are too good to give him such a lazy regression. Murphy is too smart for you Josephine! He's just buying time.
Every second of this episode was magnificent. I was worried they were gonna drag out the whole not Clarke thing. But I should've known better. This show doesn't let you catch your breath before throwing you into the next thing. And I loved it so much that it was Bellamy who figured it out. They're each other's person, how could he not? #bellarkeforever
Also Jordan being the most sensible made my heart happy. He's the new moral compass. He definitely takes after his dad! It's not okay that the primes are brainwashing people into thinking it's cool to kill someone to hijack their body. Besides, this boy, who grew up really isolated, was the first one to realize something smelled fishy. And everyone else, who should know better than to take things at face value, were super dismissive about his concerns. I love Jordan.
And how amazing was that Octavia/Diyoza heart to heart? Diyoza certainly knows a thing or two about being a violently ruthless leader. And it seems she has struggled with the guilt and consequences of her actions (much as Octavia is doing right now) and come out the other side. It's also pretty clear she sees herslef in Octavia. Maybe she'll turn into a mentor of sorts (kinda like Indra was in previous seasons), and teach her how to accept and move on, so Octavia doesn't self-destruct and can learn to live with herself and the terrible things she's done, just like all the other characters of the show. Plus there was that weird event with the green light and now her hand is all messed up!
I can't wait for next week!
Extremely cheesy. Also, it makes no sense whatsoever for Brooks to be good at every single thing he was asked to.
I also cringed so hard at that after-break up kiss. Kissing a guy who broke up with his "girlfriend" not five minutes ago is tacky, trashy behaviour.
This movie could have been good, but there was something off about it.
Max and Dr. Sharpe? Where did that even come from? Show, tell me you're kidding. Don't ruin a good thing
The drop in the motel hallway freaked me the f out.
But there's a more pressing issue. Why the hell was Steven's wife in the house hallucinations? Doesn't make any sense. Shirley's husband wasn't there. So why would she be?
1)_ Why meet in the mayor's office when you can use Fred Andrews' dining room?
2)_ Sibling bonding time over shared anxiety induced palm-scars. How sweet.
3)_ Wrestling is so awkward. And those sorta leotards? Yeah. Not flattering. Also awkward? The sheriff taking time off work to cheer on his son on the first round of tryouts. Guess he doesn't have anything to do now that The Black Hood is outta the picture.
4)_ The porn star segue. Just, no. No. That was terrible. Also Betty spent the night watching her long lost brother's porn webcams? Ewww That's messed up!
5)_ V's daddy bullying Archie and openly questioning his masculinity. I laughed #sorrynotsorry
6)_ The Darkness /eye roll/
7)_ Jughead is getting progressively more and more annoying with each passing episode. Please stop.
Oh, Midge. What about Dr. Ben? Didn't like him at first, but I do now. Too bad.
Why do I keep doing this to myself? This show manages to fill me with rage and indignation like no other has ever done before. I just want to kick the snot out of everyone, starting with that fanatic psycho Lydia. Seriously.
In a time when the human race could go extinct, cause most women are barren, the few who can have kids should be revered, not tortured and treated worse than cattle.
Screw the patriarchy, screw all these religious assholes and screw everyone who thinks they have the right to abuse other human beings. I hope they all die a very slow, very painful death.
And then, the ending happened, and Goddammit, I'm sucked in again. Cause, really, June burning her clothes, hair and cutting that damn thing out of her ear was so very satisfying and badass. It felt good, not gonna lie.
I meeean...
It was unsettling and gross. But scary? There's nothing scary about this movie. Mainly, the only creepy thing is the dissonant string music. I like horror movies, but more of the subtle, psychological kind. This one was too artsy and pretentious for me.
I guess the takeaway is don't consume weird shit strangers give you. Also, stay away from cults.
Writers, what are you doing? Harvey would be the absolute last person to willingly go exploring creepy mine tunnels. Not only did he have that trauma from seeing the Dark Lord down there, but his brother died in that mine what has to be mere months ago. It makes no sense whatsoever.
Respect your audience enough to be true to the characters you've created. The writing has been really crappy this season.
The fact that Murphy, out of all of them, was the only one to keep a somewhat cool head is priceless!
Also, everyone needs to chill with playing the blame game. They're all terrible people (except for precious Jordan). So shut up and move on.
And if you invade someone's ship, the least you should expect is them being mad about it and trying to take it back. The sanctum people ending up dead is their own fault for trying to take over. Try talking first, gassing later next time darlings.
Whaaaaa?!
Wait! What the hell just happened? OMG talk about a shocking episode ending! Connor! WTF dude!
I hope they take Atwood down hard. She's the worst.
Loved lawyer Frank!
I don't get why everyone insists on blaming Skaikru for what is obviously only Jaha's fault. He was the one that screwed everyone over! Even his own people.
Octavia is still as badass as always, you go girl!
And am I supposed to know who Riley is?
Can't wait for next week!
Stupid emotional Dreamworks movies always making me cry! Goddammit!
The animation was so, so beautiful. Visually, it's a gorgeous movie. I especially loved the koi clouds.
The story will absolutely tug at your heartstrings. All the pictures added during the end credits were such a nice touch, and the final scene of Yi at the statue with her mom and grandma? I was teary eyed all over again. It's such a sweet story. Overcoming the grief of loss by helping someone else reunite with their loved ones. I loved it!
But, of course, it had plenty of light, funny moments too. It had me alternating between smiling and crying, sometimes doing both simultaneously.
And to round out everything, "Fix You" by Coldplay. Totally unexpected, but greatly appreciated. I love that song, and it was just perfect for this movie. Also loved the whooping snakes, found them hilarious.
Let's be honest. Who even cares about William WHEN BRIANNA IS COMING! I'm so looking forward to that!
