Uncut Gems is unlink any Adam Sandler movie you'v seen before. You're probably use to Sandler's goofy voices or corny jokes, but in Gems he is far from that actor. During the entirety of the film, I was left guessing with what would happen next. The biggest downfall with a movie like Uncut Gems, is you typically can guess how the storyline will play out. With Uncut Gems, there are far too many twists and turns that throw you off of the path of correctly predicting the ending. You can't help but get attached to Sandler's character (and most times want to punch him).
Most of the reviews for Sandler's performance were positive as soon as the film released, but he even beat my expectations.
A strong thumbs up for me.
This is one of those episodes of The Twilight Zone that isn't great but still holds your attention. Unfortunately, season 5 is plagued with having really iconic episodes and also some of the worse episodes in the series. This episode is a good filler between the good and bad.
File Aladdin as one of those Disney movies that will live on forever. No remake, no live action, no sequel will top this film. The cast was all great, but there is no doubt that Williams made this film with his Genie. The jokes that Williams was able to bring to the film was hands down, one of..if not the best, performance in a Disney film to date. The animation was fantastic, the storyline was great, but most importantly, Aladdin had one of the best (and most complete) soundtracks from a Disney film! 10/10!
What can I say? Toy Story is easily one of the best movies from recent history. I haven't met too many people that didn't enjoy the original Toy Story. On a historic stand point, Toy Story set the standard for animated films going forward. The contributions that the film has made to the art, the iconic characters and catchphrases that are now instilled in pop-culture, and a cast that can't be rivaled, Toy Story is an absolute much watch. The storyline of the film is great, the jokes are perfect for both adults and children, plus like any Pixar film, the amount of Easter Eggs will keep you wanting to watch Toy Story over and over. I can't say enough positive things about this film!
Decent casting, but I wish they would have stuck closer to the actual musical’s sound/scenes. Also, the amount of product placement in this movie was wild.
An enjoyable watch, but no way did it need to be a whole series.
This film was horribly great!
In my opinion, American Factory is a politically driven documentary. With that being said, I also believe that the film is directed in a way that avoids lopsidedness towards one side or another. The film gives you an opportunity to see the harsh reality of (some) international factory work. When those same methods come to the United States it’s met with a work force willing to fight for their rights. I applaud the directors for showing multiple angles to the complex world of factory work.
I really struggled to get through this one. I will say the ending was interesting take though!
The Muppets Take Manhattan, is not one of my favorite Muppet movies, but it is still a good watch! Like most Muppet movies, you will see some pretty big names featured in the film and all of them take park in the goofy gags and jokes that Muppets are known for. Manhattan is a great film for any Muppet fan!
I know die hard/old school Disney fans swear by the original Disney Swiss Family Robinson but...I didn't like this movie as kid and I disliked it even after rewatching it as an adult. The movie is slow and boring and if it wasn't for the last 20 minutes, the film would be a 1 on the rating scale. The fight between brothers for the "girl" grew old....quick. In fact, a lot of the of the movie was a little too corny for my liking. Sorry Swiss Family fans, the attraction at Disney World and this movie both are a hard pass for me.
It's crazy to think that this short is from the early '30s. Like a lot of Silly Symphony shorts, unless you are big into Disney, you wouldn't automatically assume this was a Disney production. Once you take a closer look at the film and the jokes within it, you can see the quality of production and, if you're like me, find it hard to believe that the film was created in the 1930s. The gags are funny, the animation is good, and this image of Santa is used quite a bit, even today within the Disney world.
Unfortunately, this would be one of the Disney films that has moments of racist and stereotype based jokes.
Corny, but an absolute staple in the BMW canon.
The entire garage scene I couldn’t help but keep thinking that the red zip up sweatshirt was from The Santa Clause…
If you had to sum up Simpsons humor to someone who has never watched the show, this may be one of the episodes you show them!
A few funny jokes, but certainly not the quality of the episodes at the end of S2 and start of S3.
Funny overall, a few good oneliners made me laugh. "You young whatchamacallit"
Good overall, but certainly could have been a 1 part film.
A memorable episode, but not one of the best...not even for this season.
I really liked this episode. Overall, a lot of characters and jokes were introduced for the first making the episode a true first episode (even if it was listed as #2). Several of the jokes had me cracking up!
Not a fan of this episode at all. Star Trek has some pretty far-out-there stuff, but this one is really weird and falls significantly short of Encounter at Farpoint.
By combining modern day organized crime, 1970s style hockey fights, and lingo only a hockey fan can translate, UNTOLD Crime and Penalties was able to keep things fresh and entertaining for hockey fans and non-fans alike.
Like a number of the episodes in the UNTOLD series, Crime and Penalties was made in a way that allowed the viewers and cast both to have fun with a topic that had a long lasting ripple effect. Over the top characters? Check. Countless references to The Sopranos? Check. A tie in for Disney's The Mighty Ducks? Oddly enough... check.
We had a ton of fun with this episode. A must watch for fans of organized crime or hockey!

Fittest On Earth, it's the title given to the male and female athletes who win the annual CrossFit Games, or simply "The Games". In addition to the (internet) televised games, there is almost always a documentary that follows a given year's games. The documentaries, typically titled Fittest On Earth, follows around a number of popular athletes as they push their bodies to the absolute limits, all to be labeled the Fittest athlete.
Fittest In Dubai follows the same general format as other Fittest On Earth documentaries that CrossFit puts out. This edition did work with Dubai to insert some awesome shots of the their infamous skyline.
There were quite a few big names from the CrossFit world involved with Fittest In Dubai, but there still was a pretty big absence of some of the most recognizable athletes (mainly because they did not participate). The film is a nice way to hold over the viewer before the main Fittest On Earth documentary comes out for last year's Games. Fittest In Dubai isn't going to win any documentary of the year awards, but it certainly is a fun film for those who enjoy The Games.

If you’re a fan of sports, Detroit, or Bob Probert, Tough Guy: The Bob Probert Story is going to tug at your emotions a little.
Tough Guy starts by detailing how a guy like Probert could reach the level of being a crowd favorite of his hometown Detroit Red Wings. Although the Wings weren’t quite on their famous Cup Run, Probert provided a much needed boost in toughness and entertainment. All this came at a time when the Red Wings were known as the Dead Wings. Probie would turn out to be one of the players that would lay the ground work for the Red Wing’s dynasty that would soon follow his tenure. As long time NHL player Jermery Roenick described Probert in the documentary- “he was Mr. Detroit”.
Unfortunately, Probert’s contributions would come at a cost. In order to continue playing (more so fighting) at such a high level, Probert had to resort to various substances to ease the pain. At several points in Probert’s career he faced legal issues ranging from cocaine possession to drunk driving.
Probert’s demons would continue to haunt him for the majority of his life.

Honeyland follows the daily life of Hatidže Muratova, a Macedonian bee keeper. Muratova lives with her mother in an extremely remote area on the mountains of Macedonia. As the film progresses, the Sam’s, a family of nomads, moves in near Muratova’s land. Muratova befriends the family, but sadly their relationship sours when Muratova’s bees are attacked and killed by those owned by the Sam family. After seeing the death of the bees, in addition to a few other developments in the Sam’s personal life, the family herds their cattle and travels to their next temporary home. The film ends with Muratova being left alone with just her mother, contemplating whether life in a remote village is truly worth the struggle, a theme that comes up multiple times in the film.
Honeyland is a extremely raw and eye opening documentary. At several points during the documentary, I was left with my jaw on the floor in awe that I was watching footage from 2015-2018. Muratova has no running water, no electricity, and lives off the land as much as possible. Like Muratova, the Sam family also lives unlike most people in Europe and the Westernized world. The Sam’s, who are nomads, pile all of their belongings in an old camping trailer and a few vehicles roaming from place to place. In addition to their caravan of vehicles, the Sam family also has a large herd of cattle. As you will see, the Sam’s use these cattle as a source of income, food, and livelihood, forcing the true meaning of sustainability. The family exemplifies what it means when you hear the phrase everyone has to pull their weight, employing everyone in the family, no matter age or gender to complete hard labor tasks on a daily basis.

One of Us is the story of three (ex) Hasidic Jews on their path to leaving their religiously conservative communities. Throughout the documentary viewers are introduced to Ari Hershkowitz, Luzer Twersky, and Etty Ausch, all of whom are looking to escape their community but each taking a different path.
Each one of the subject’s stories were extremely gripping. From drug abuse, to a struggling actor, to the ultimate sacrifice of giving up Etty’s own children, the subjects all had to make hard decisions on their path to leave their Hasidic community behind. The stories contained in One of Us are extraordinary.

The first half of the film almost had me turning it off all together. The second half actually turned out to be pretty good!
Disney's Treasure Island was fantastic. It has been many...many...years since I lasted watched Treasure Island. As I got older, and became more knowledgeable on Disney and their movies, this movie became even more important and special. Robert Newton's, Long John Silver, is second to none. Newtown single-handedly changed the way that we think of pirates and how they talk/dress/act. Newton made this movie something to be "treasured" for future generations.
