'Ghost ectoplasm, yes, that is exactly what it is.'
That bit of puppetry?/animation? (doll) is both casually impressive and exactly my kind of hilarious.
[7.1/10] A fun premise. I didn’t love every place they took it, but the idea of vampires being able to commune with the ghosts of their human selves was a fun bit. To be honest, I enjoyed the prelude more than the actual hauntings. Everyone blaming Guillermo for what was clearly a ghost was an amusing bit. And I enjoyed all the vamps except for NAdja being skeptical about ghosts despite the fact that they themselves are supernatural creatures. I particularly got a kick out of Guillermo’s incredulous “that’s where we draw the line” comment.
The actual hauntings were hit or miss. Matt Berry acting opposite himself is a recipe for laughs, but the whole “I need your human hands to stimulate me” shtick wasn’t terribly clever and had the most obvious payoff in the world. Nandor having to overcome the language barrier with his human self was worth a chuckle, but not much more. Though his reunion with his horse (which he had to eat, apparently) was oddly sweet.
Nadja’s bit with her ghost was hit or miss too. Again, Natasia Demitriou acting opposite herself is a good routine, but inhabiting the doll didn’t really go anywhere (maybe later in the season?), and the shtick with Jeff/Gregor has never been my favorite. That said, as always, Colin Robinson trying to get everyone to play along with his lame humor and “updog” joke was a very funny running gag.
Overall, this was a great idea, but the actual episode was merely pretty good.
I would have absolutely no problem in helping my own ghost finish off that business - I’ve been practising for years ;-)
Wait, why did Colin's grandmother get summoned when he did the seance? Or did he never die like ordinary vampires because he's an energy vampire? Maybe he specifically summoned her instead of himself, but I somehow doubt that. Furthermore, is he around their (Nandor, Lazslo, Nadja) age or middle-aged/somewhere around how he looks? I don't remember. Either way, I don't get why his grandmother got summoned. If anything, nobody would've gotten summoned, right? But I'm probably overthinking things. At best, it was most likely done to be comedic, not a "suspend your disbelief a little" version of logicality. Wow, I'm so looking too deeply into it. Anyway, I think there was a bigger comedic tone (that hit the mark, as in, coming across as hilarious) than in the premiere. In other words, I found this episode to be funnier than the premiere, while the premiere was also funny.
These two first episodes were extremely entertaining, and I need more. It's an absolute disservice that there are only ten episodes in this season, and the first season, also. I NEED MORE. But I will cherish every single one, as they are all we have. I hope there will be another season and many more. Yes, I know. We're only two episodes in, why already hope that it gets renewed? Well, it's just that entertaining, and good!

Matt Berry as Lazslo is absolutely side splitting. I laugh so hard at his segments I have to pause and rewind it several times. “There’s a fucking ghost on the front lawn!” after the no sell on the porch and freaking out after was hilarious!
