7.7/10. Another good episode! I think the show has gotten more confident at balancing its various plot threads. The bit with Selina trying to be a (semi-)good mom on the one hand and do damage control for her daughter writing a pro-Palestinian paper on the other was a solid story thread, that gave her time to seem a little more human, but also like the insulated beltway nut that she is in turn. The same goes for Amy. I don't know how I like the wrinkle that she and Dan dated and that her family thinks Dan broke her heart, but again, the fact that her family thinks she needs to have a baby to be happy and the stress of that is a nice touch. She wants to use her job as an excuse to escape family and family as an excuse to escape her job. That's an interesting push-and-pull.
And on the pure comedic side, Gary Cole continues to be a big shot in the arm for this show, with his dry wit coming through pretty perfectly. Selina's disgust at having to go to a pig pick and her attempts to be folksy were amusing, and it's deft comedic writing to have the conflict be that she's talking about Israel-Palestine while standing in front of a pork roast. Jonah trying to block it was great physical comedy. And the scene of Gary being despondent when he realizes Dana's the leak, Mike being despondent because the new boyfriend broke him out of his money trouble blitheness, and Jonah being pumped after a "good day" was great.
Overall, the show seems to be finding its stride, which is welcome!
