I really enjoyed the uplifting tone of the show. Sad, that it got cancelled, but it ended on a high note.
The phrase version of this show would be called 'Wolf in a sheep costume'. That is exactly what every moment in this show felt like. It presents itself with so much bubblegum that the majority do not notice its actual grit. And that is the very reason why this was such an underrated show. Very few people found its subtext. Throughout its four seasons, they never derailed from what they wanted to convey. And even after all this, the comedy did not dwindle. Not...one....bit.
The theme song is very catchy I’ll give it that
It is quite amazing that I watched all four seasons of this although it never got a laugh out of me. I genuinely appreciate the cleverness of the dialogue and the delivery of the cast and will probably never know why I never laughed. There are definitely low points and I would definitely recommend a ton of other sitcoms before watching this but it is quite watchable and is great background tv.
A phenomenon that don't care much about the political correctness while at the same time showing the defects of the modern world. The plot, however, is often so bad that it looks like they had no clue what to do next.
qué pena que se haya acabado. Es genial esta serie
The first two seasons were good but the show started getting worse after that.
Titus manages to get more annoying each episode, he's so cringy and I may have been able to tolerate him in the beginning and even find him funny sometimes but now he's just straight up provocative and the focus on his love life is too much and unnecessary.
I highly recommend this show! Kimmy is such a lighthearted funny character who has a very dark background. This story just works, the characters are all lovable! It's one of those shows you can easily binge.
So I just watched this whole show (thanks Netflix) and it is great.
The tone and quality remind me of 30 Rock a lot (which makes sense because Tina Fey).
The premise of a girl who just got out of being trapped in bunker for 15 years and trying to adjust to world sounds super dark and depressing, but the fact that the main character turns it into something fun is the charm of the show. She is in infact "unbreakable". Geddit?
The character Kimmy definitely comes off as likable despite being freakishly upbeat all the time. And the side characters are all interesting in their own ways.
This seems like another stop in Netflix's road to credibility as a network ("we can do a sitcom too"), but it is still very funny and a good watch. Even if it is quite short.
Season 2!
Literally the single most unexpected actually hilarious show. I was not expecting this to be good at all.

It was good at the begining, now it sucks
This show was fun to watch, but now I realize only the first two seasons were worth it. The third one was okay, but the fourth sucked so bad that I didnt even finished. It's unbearable!
It's fine, nothing too special. It took me til episode 10 to realize that hey, this show might actually be something. So it doesn't pull you in immediately,at least for me it didn't but I wouldn't mind a second season.
It's funny,a bit awkward at times but it isn't the best I've seen.
Aww fudge.....I can't wait until the next season! I had no idea that Netflix had such good material under their belt! Really funny and capturing show!
You'd expect more from Tina Fey than this. A direct two season order is a blessing for this show as it wouldn't get it on its originial network for sure.
Although, it's not the worst I've seen and there are better ones being supported after they jumped the shark ages ago for several more seasons (Cougar Town).
However, the show has a likable maincharacter (Kimmy) and some fitting sidecharacters. But the focus lies partially too much on Tidus, the roomate Kimmy shares a basement appartment with. The occasional appearance of some known B/C actors is nice, like Dean Norris or Richard Kind or the recurring role of Jane Krakowski as the boss of Kimmy.
The Person I cannot stand the most is Carol Kane who plays the landlord of Kimmy and Tidus. One of the most "unnecessary" actors I've ever seen. I hate to see her here or in Gotham where she plays the mother of Penguin.
Personal preference aside, the end of the first season (last three eps) is based on most incredible stupidity for laughs. Some form of this would be acceptable as it used throughout the first season anyway (Kimmy's father is borderline stupilarious as long as he doesn't appear too often, or too long), especially since Tina Fey is an executive producer and guestappearing herself in these episodes. But the horrendous level of stupidity makes it barely watchable.
If you expect the same quirkiness as you know from 30 Rock, you won't be entirely disappointed but to some degree nontheless. It's still an okayish, uplifting, sort of wacky attempt at a comedy.
Season 1 - It's silly and it's funny. Looking forward to season 2.
7/10
Update: Season 2 & 3 are great (season 3 was easily the best of the series).
8.5/10
Just finished watching the 4th and final season...Probably the worst season overall - they obviously ran out of fresh ideas and just dive-bombed the series with stupid episode fillers and unfunny episodes in the middle section of the season. Ended well though. Skip the interactive episode!!!
6/10
I was very upset that NETFLIX cancelled this great show.
I wish this show had more seasons, it was too good not to, shame on you NETFLIX.
Seems like a ripoff Blast from the Past 1999. I liked that movie more then this show. Didn't find much of it that funny. Acting seems forced, the plot is very simple with no depth.
Inane plot combined with an utter lack of acting talent. The only TV show I've found more difficult to watch recently was Master of None.
Literally the holy grail of racism in America... I had to stop watching after Episode 3, where we met the indigenous parents. That was so friken heartbreakin, and I know they didn't retouch on that anytime during this shitty ass series...
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: (9.4/10) Upbeat humor that makes light of some dark situations surrounding the main character - this is a pick-me-up show, believe it or not. Jokes are the epitome of witty, goofy humor. Overall, incredibly enjoyable - though it can seem childish. Characters actually develop and grow, and uproot the pattern of ironic cynicism.

Very subtle, intelligent and hilarious.
