This mission looks like something from an ALIENS/AvP movie. The glowing green ooze is like the Predators' blood and whatnot. It would've been a lot cooler if there were a monster so it can be monster-of-the-week episode.
Flesh eating parasites from the sea. What else can you ask for. Reminds me of that episode with the tentacled sea creature. Still no Mulder :(
An interesting premise let down by a mid execution, but primarily due to a shoddy ending in which a collection of criminals (the "transportation director" and their cohorts - and potentially the mayor - and a police officer) go free secondary to lazy/bad writers (or the show runners) who didn’t want to deal with it. As an aside, the "contamination" (which was never explained) wouldn't have been "no longer extant". That's not possible (read "stupid"). Even if it were, there was a great deal of evidence and multiple witnesses. Frustrating. The ending could've wrapped up loose endings in a minute or two of screen time in a somewhat satisfactory manner. A common theme regarding the series. Bad endings.
This is about Scully and Doggett finding a virus in the Boston subway system. This episode had Scully kind of cracking under pressure. Pretty boring and not claustrophobic enough.
