At first, we see the culture of Native Americans. With long hair and wiseness people. The old guy said something about earth and he was right, his grandchild found a dead alien body with ship. Probably that grandchild cant speak the language of his family.
Anasazi Empire is real by the way. They have nie cliff dwellings. I searched some: "The Anasazi lived here for more than 1,000 years. Then, within a single generation, they were gone. Between 1275 and 1300 A.D., they stopped building entirely, and the land was left empty."
Neighbour of mulder killed his husband. I did not understand it at first but later we understood. It was because of something in the water they put.
Mulder punched skinner, he said he did not know why but i thought he made it to be able to free while searching for that code. But also this was because of water.
They are still alone. mulder and scully. If they gave the document to a journalist, it could be easy. Why did mulder try to understand first? He should just send it to multiple journalists anonymously. At same time, he can try to decode it.There must be journalists like mulder who wont be afraid to tell the truth to the public.
We see also an anarchist person who get the document. Anarchists normally dont work with goverment people but mulder is different person. Anyone can trust and respect him.
It was really interesting to see his father was also an important person for UFO things in old times. Maybe mulder's sister was not captured by aliens. The military who use alien tech took her to make her super human, with the permission of his father. I dont know.
Those dark people can kill mulder and scully easily and show it like some robbery accident or car accident. But they wont do it for years , because series end in 2018 so they dont do it :)
In the end, they tried but probably they could not :) they did not try to kill scully but for mulder they tried without mercy. I wonder how he would survive.
I also cant understand skinner. He was good guy but now he does not do anything.
Why did they leave the corpses there, it is also interesting. It is like "come and discover what I have done in past.". Maybe they did not know about those train wagon. It just came from bottom of the ground somehow.
I thought krycek was dead but he appeared and disappeared again :)
Next season will be very exciting. Mulder and scully now have strong trust and feelings for each other. They cant be stopped.
I will miss this series. Because i watch series by a season in a row. So after i watch one season for other series, i can come for 3. season of x-files.
Can I please give an 11/10 or 12/10? Thanks.
I love love love this episode and the following two. Finally the story is getting a lot more life. Superb!
Honestly what a season ending.
I've been doing a project where I rewatch and watch for the first time shows chronologically as they were aired. Compared to other shows in 1995, the X-Files works hard to set itself apart in both the "ick" factor but also the delicacy with which they build tension. This finale left me on a hill where I am DESPERATE to start the second part of this episode.
I can only imagine that those who actually had to wait three months to watch the next season were talking about this all summer.
The best episode of the series to this point. There's a ton of action in this and there are so many details.
Secondary Characters in this episode: Cigarette Smoking-Man, Krycek, Albert Hosteen, Bill Mulder, The Syndicate
A teenage boy on an Indian reservation finds a buried boxcar with dead aliens in it. Mulder receives every Top Secret document associated with UFOs and aliens since the 1940s. They are given to him by a hacker known as "The Thinker", but the docs are all coded in Navajo and require and Navajo code-talker to translate. Mulder punches Skinner. Scully finds Mulder's apartment water being drugged which explains his fever and erratic, psychotic behavior. Mulder has the documents which will inform him of his father Bill's sanctioning of alien experiments. Krycek shoots and kills Bill. Mulder fights Krycek who I think was outside Mulder's apartment waiting to kill him. Scully shoots Mulder in the shoulder so that he can't kill Krycek with Krycek's gun which would have implicated Mulder in the killing of his father. Scully takes Mulder to the reservation to meet with Albert Hosteen, the code-talker. Scully tells Mulder that one of the things in the Top Secret documents is her name along with a mention of Duane Barry. She tells him he has to figure out why her name is in the docs. Mulder investigates the boxcar and finds piles of alien bodies. While taking with Scully on the phone, he notices that the aliens have smallpox vaccine scars on their arms. Just then, the CSM flies in via helicopter. CSM and his troops search the boxcar but there's no sign of Mulder, so he has it burned. Flames leap from the boxcar and we are left to wonder if Mulder is inside and whether the CSM now believes Mulder to be dead or not, but at least from his point of view, he has destroyed evidence of the alien experiments.
One of the seasons ending in the history of television, absolutely brilliant.

It feels too cryptic and contrived, and not enough meat on the bone for depth, not in regards to the alien storyline or the characterization. Mulder's dad dying feels forced. Mulder being framed feels forced. Mulder's dad being involved with the smoking man feels forced. Mulder not trusting Scully feels forced.
Ugh.
An alien body is teased at the beginning, and then... Most of the episode isn't related to it. Just annoyances and being Mulder centric (which undoubtedly was influenced by David's story credit).
Scully shoots Mulder... This has gotten so, so bad.
Along with native american stereotypes...
Ugh.
There are a lot interesting morsels here and there. Although it overcomplicates things, Mulder's dad being part of the smoking mans organization is kind of interesting (even though it then leads to currently unaswered questions related to Mulder's sister, though this connection could be used in part to explain it). Mulder being messed with from his water. Scully being questioned about her allegiance by Skinner and the others. The Lone Gunmen making an appearance. The tape and it's implications. For some reason X, Mulder's source, doesn't make an appearance, even though he played the Deep Throat role this season, and who was important in last season's finale. Why did they even keep records of the greatest secrets? Why not have it entirely offline? You needed the cipher or whatever to access it online anyway. Why are these records online? In the DoD mainframe? And the thinker was surprised how easy it was to break in? Nevermind, it's 1995 so the creators apparently didn't know much about computers.
Mulder gets all the good character stuff and alien investigative stuff this episode, while Scully helps him out with the cipher and also shoots him.
The little morsels of interesting stuff aren't close to making up for the problems of this episode.
