I never was a big fan of the over-the-top and outright goofy episodes of the X-Files but this one had me giddy throughout. The writing and twists (in the meta, dis-information kinda way) were excellent and had me hooked from the start. Besides the numerous easter eggs and brain-burny comments linking conspiracy, reality, memory fiction and everything in between this was indeed a good glimpse in our present time.
The "shame shame" fingers (in our area called "sliep sliep") made me chuckle. They really don't do that anymore do they... It's all so poco. This episode was great and a sublime way of introducing the "end" of the X-Files and them being so irrelevent in this day and age (even though we all know they were, and maybe are, completely relevent still).
Foxy, Sculls, and Reggie are at it again.
This episode was too ridiculous and absurd not to love. The best episode the show has put out in a long time (perhaps ever). And it certainly is not a coincidence that the best episodes from season 11 (so far) and season 10 were both goofier episodes written and directed by Darin Morgan. (This is my subtle way of saying that Chris Carter's mytharc continuation is Bad and he needs to Stop).
Remember when The X-Files used to be all about conspiracy theories? Well, the show clearly does, it just gave us one whole episode about it. It was also one of those quirky episodes that I'm so fond of; last season's was top notch and this one did not disappoint, too. Good laughs, cute dorky remix of the intro credits and of some scenes from older episodes, and great story-telling, this episode is a keeper!
The world is filled with really weird (sometimes even dangerous) stuff, so I can sleep safer tonight knowing that Skulls, Foxy and Reggie are taking care of that for us (though Reggie may be temporarily unavailable).
The actual finale for the X-Files. I knew that My Struggle had to be fake memories. Thanks for helping us remember the truth Reggie!
This episode is epic I couldn't stop laughing, we really missed these goofy X Files hilarious episodes :D
One of the parts that really got me is
Mulder: Maybe you did but in a parallel universe.
Reggie: Exactly... Knock that off.
Many viewers caught the "Twilight Zone" nod at the beginning with the pseudo "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up". But most missed the second TZ nod. The end scene with the Alien was like the TZ episode "To Serve Man"
Oh, look, Reggie is back! Get well soon dude!
I want more Darin Morgan episodes. This was the best yet in S11; his was also the best in S10.
⊗ I'm diggin' tonight's X-Files exploring the Mandela Effect, but I can't be the only one in this alt universe who remembers a female Foxy Mulder (aka Denise Bryson of Twin Peaks)
Cet épisode est l’un des plus drôle parmis toute la série X-Files. Reggie Something is great!!!
Goofy, but still makes some very interesting points about the world we live in today.
Wow.
It's a Darin Morgan episode, of course I AM HERE FOR IT.
Very funny episode. Very entertaining things about the mandella effect. Loved the nods to classic sci-fi shows.
Very disturbing conversation with the villain about the nature of truth and news and the post-truth era.
I don’t undestand why so many people say “oh it was so funny” no it wasn’t.
It wasn’t bad either but please, I am also a fan of the show but I’m not gonna praise everything they do. Not very funny. Also there’s no need to get into politics. The fact that they need to take from politics, in a show with so many layers, reveals a lack of resources from the writer.
The first three episodes of Season 11 have been very difficult to sit through, but thankfully, along comes another episode written and directed by Darin Morgan. This time, Scully and Mulder talk over conspiracy theories and the Mandela effect with a guy claiming to be a former partner they've forgotten about named Reggie. In this episode, there are all sorts of name drops and easter eggs of some of my favorite nostalgic things like the "Twilight Zone", "Outer Limits", and an Evel Knievel stunt cycle doll.
When Mulder is searching for an episode of the Twilight Zone in his collection of VHS tapes, he tells a story about how it influenced his life as a young lad after he saw it. While he's frantically searching, Scully asks him, "Are you sure it wasn't an episode of the Outer Limits?", to which Mulder replies "Do you even realize who you're talking to right now?!?!?" Then he also says that he can't even find reference to it in all of his Episode Guides. Man, that really hit close to home as I have plenty of those books about those two classic shows.
Reggie is a funny character who claims that HE created the X-Files and that Scully and Mulder later joined him. They of course have no idea who Reggie is and hilarity ensues. Reggie even calls Scully "Skulls" which is very funny and frankly surprised me that it's never been said before. Overall, this is another excellent and fun story from Darin Morgan with Anderson and Duchovny playing it up wonderfully.
The best episode in a very long time! Just a goofy, parody of itself, but such a joyful one.
Very good. Incase you missed it, at 14:10 a company name is dubbed out in a rant about conspiracy - this has made the episode
Maybe for some it's very funny, for me it was as if watching some lame attempt at a comedy show. This episode was not for me. My GF fell asleep even.
Is he right and us wrong or is it the other way around? That conversation in the parking lot
Smart, funny, relevant - everything first two episodes were not. This made it worth a while
What the hell was that?!
One of those goofy and absurd episodes we all love! This one was better than last season's, no "Bad Blood", sure, but it was a delight. That throwback to past episodes was great, I missed Reggie!
It also made a good few points about our society these days, specially on that conversation with Dr. They about "fake news" and the whole plot was spot-on, the writing was solid and I had some good laughs, best episode of the season so far
I don't understand why they are making a mockery of the show. So disappointed
loved the alien scene. it was Trumporific lol
it sure was something. wait, what?
Best Episode since "Bad Blood".

What's not to like? It's one of those old goofy X-Files episodes.
