Some of the dialogue scenes felt like I was watching a soap series.
AHHHHHHHHHH YESSSSSSSSSS FINALLY WE SEE DIFFERENT FORMS OF WALKERS/ZOMBIES ON THE MAIN SHOW:relieved::relieved::relieved::relieved::relieved::relieved:
At least they’re :asterisk_symbol:trying:asterisk_symbol: to show what separates the Alexandrians from the more sinister groups. At this point I’m just glad there’s a clear directive moving forward.
This episode was really good! I mean whenever we get Carol and Daryl it's good... Carol especially. Seeing the bits at the start - from her journey so far - made me realize once again just how much Carol has done for the group. Melissa McBride carries a lot of the show!
I have really enjoyed Lance. A lot of that has to do with how superb Josh Hamilton portrayed him. He is scary on a whole different level and he might even be the cruelest of the villains we've seen because he truly deeply believes himself to be a hero fighting for an ideal future and doing whatever it takes. I'm sad to see him go and because we haven't seen him turn I hope there is a possibility that he is still alive.
I know a lot feel like the way Lance went out was underwhelming but I found it perfect (if he died!?). Alone in the woods, nobody that cares, no difference made by him whatsoever...
Now for the rest of the episode... I'm so glad Yumiko stood her ground but let's be honest... did we expect anything else from her? She is a loyal friend and a team player. She wouldn't back down if things get tough and thing are definitely tough. She made her people proud I think. It was also very smart of her to applaud her brother that publicly. Pamela threatened him but now eyes will be on him if anything where to happen.
Bottle chapter at its best... :(
Put this show out of its misery, please! Pretty please!
[6.0/10] None of the storylines in this one did much for me. Maybe there’s a common thread between them, about integrity or practicality or who knows what. But it’s just hard for me to get my motor running for The Walking Dead as it limps to the finish line.
Pamela Milton is no longer an interesting, nuanced character. She’s just a mustache-twirling, dastardly villain now. Charitably, the fact that her son’s deaths made her this way comes with some storytelling potential. But in practical terms, she’s less interesting as a straight, Machiavellian bad guy, rather than someone who genuinely thinks they’re doing good. This is, somewhat poetically, just another version of The Governor, and it’s no better now than it was then.
I also couldn't care less about Yumiko taking a big stand. She’s been a boring character for a while, and watching her have a scowl off with Governor Milton gets tiresome quickly. The only noteworthy thing is how Pamela increasingly uses people’s desire to protect their family members to get them to do her bidding. Yumiko trying to have it both ways -- to defend rather than prosecute Eugene, while also highlighting her brother’s importance to the Commonwealth -- is clever enough, but there’s not enough emotional juice to any of the relationships involved for it to matter.
I feel the same way about the Carol/Daryl/Hornsby portion of the episode, which is a disappointing thing to say, given how those are some of the show’s best characters. Hornsby’s death should be a bigger deal, but we were just starting to get to know him, and he’d been stripped of all his power, so it lands with a thud, not a boom. At no point did I seriously buy he would be able to talk Carol into swallowing his bullshit about preserving the Commonwealth or oblique references to unrequited love from Daryl or Pamela. And you just knew they were going to escape the military patrols by hook or by crook, so there was little in the way of genuine tension or stakes.
I do find it interesting that, in all his self-serving bluster, Hornsby does raise a good point. Bringing down the Commonwealth risks scattering 50,000 semi-helpless people to the winds. I presume they’ll put Mercer in charge eventually to solve that, but it’s a valid point to raise.
Otherwise, I’m nonplussed by the Commonwealth’s train invasion plan, and the Virginia Survivors being drugged and inveigled to some black site isn’t the thrilling tease the show wants either. Carol and Daryl as lone wolf avengers comes with some excitement, but for now, the Hornsby business is tiresome.
Overall, a weak outing from this batch of episodes, which moves a few pieces around the board, and even knocks one off the table, but can’t find a way to make it engrossing.
ah yes let me follow a guy wearing super loud shoes
We went from one of the best shows ever made to something worse than Z Nation. At least Z Nation didn't take itself seriously and was pretty funny.
Season 11 could have been over in 5 episodes. This show should have been over 5 seasons ago. And in the end, I bet nothing gets resolved with Rick and Michone, so we're forced to watch more absolute shit to find out. I'm not going to bother. Watching until this ends and then screw the future endless movies and spinoffs. I won't be a sucker any longer than that.
Maybe they'll have a spinoff where they move on to find a new settlement where everything looks perfect until they discover after 18 episodes that things are not what they seem, like what happened at Woodbury, Terminus, Alexandria, Hilltop and the Commonwealth.
We are witnessing a show that is being bled dry.
The early scene of Daryl being pinned was so lame all to show he is vulnerable to danger even though we've seen far more dangerous moments Daryl easily deals with in the past.
Then the writers are clearly drawing out the final shows as their writing has become far too predictable.
Let's hope the finale of the last two to three episodes make use of the last handful and not serve us more fillers till the very last episode.
Not saying I haven't appreciated the many seasons of great performances, thrilling conflicts, and monsterous humans, and of course the zombies. It is just wearing very thin in this last season with it broken down in so many release parts etc.
carol, hornsby & daryl were the best part of this episode, at times the two storylines didn’t mix well

So some walkers take minutes to turn and some take a day.
