I’m calling it - The Walking Dead… time of death, August 22nd, 2021 on AMC. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
So glad (sarcasm) this zombie thriller has devolved into social commentary on the wealth gap. The viewers are hoping to enjoy this fiction as an escape from reality for awhile, AMC...not to continue to choke it down 24/7.
This final season was incredible, the soundtrack, the writing, and the story was amazing. There were so many references to the comics, 9-24 was some of the best episodes on the show, being able to see Rick and Michonne one last time in the end was really nice:sob::sob: they did the show right
Got to episode 20 out of season 11 and decided, enough is enough. I have watched this show from the very start and I am so disappointed that it is suffering a slow lingering death of this magnitude.
It has been truly obvious for a few seasons now that the producers are trying to wring every last dollar out of this franchise before it finally ends. This is typified by the lack of budget used in the production to portray the 'Commonwealth.'
This is supposed to be a community of several thousand and yet all we get are the usual scenes where extras are shot close up in groups of thirty moving from place to place. I hope they never 'resurrect' this show and let it die peacefully!
Anyone who's going to pick this up again: watch it on at least 1.3 speed. Some episodes crank it up to 1.6 and even then it's slow. I finally finished it and this was the only way. When you can binge it, the show seems somewhat better than weekly episodes.
Had dropped this show when it was airing around the Negan part, picked it up when I heard Negan part was over. Then had to drop again during the long and boring whisperer part. Now, picked it back up to finish the last seasons because I heard the show was over. I didn't even know it was over. The show really went downhill in the later seasons, that is what we can all agree on.
We can all see the show really peaked in multiple parts in it's full. First season, the third season, the beginning of the 7th season and also in the 9th season. But this last season? Eventho it was it's last, it didn't peak at all. There was a massive drop in viewers and it was expected.
The season itself, in my opinion, is not that remarkable. It doesn't do anything new. It's the same formula. It doesn't end the show horribly either. It wasn't a bad season. It's just, the same as always. New enemy community of people.
Now the main show is over, the AMC studio is bringing out side shows left and right, so the story isn't really over. Haven't seen any of those.
This TV series was amazing for the first 4 seasons and after that, completely rubbish. Finally it's over. It gets worse every season.
10/10 for the final opening credit scene
Just over the halfway point, I kinda like what they’re doing in this season. Seems like the film crew discovered a wide angle lens in their backpacks, and the Gladiator storyline with Daryl and douchebucket isn’t original, but satisfying. Maggie and Negan are the best reasons to keep watching for me. The dynamic
Between them is great.
