Really good show i love it
Was really excited for this during the early first season, then towards the end of it and into the second season I started getting disappointed. I'll continue to watch though

As of writing this, I am 29% in. The first season was good, the second meh, but now it's gone on so long it's just gotten repetitive. I find I hit skip a few times each episode, and it makes no difference at all. I may watch more in the future, but for now, I think I've seen enough.
why is Sarah Wayne Callies not mentioned in the cast list? I just started watching the series. does she get cut early on?

1) I can't believe there are only two other people on here that have commented other than myself that have read the comics. 2) The comic is amazing and will always be better than the show, but that happens with many things. The comic is just too much for them to put on tv. 3) As much as I would love it to be exactly like the comic it wont ever be, but that's what makes the show great in it's own way. For those who have read the comic it's pretty much a guideline for the next location they'll have in the show. 4) Yes, there are many things that make me upset with the show like who shouldn't have died or was alive too long or love stories that never happen or as simple as characters that should have been in it or not in it. I guess the good thing is it keeps me guessing. My final decision on this show is that I'm addicted to it and love it as I do the comic. I am very glad that Robert Kirkman is involved with it and love the visionary Greg Nicotero is (Sorry, if names are spelled wrong.) And I truly believe the actors they chose are very form fitting to the characters. Must give them awesome props also for being the first and only zombie show. It doesn't have ten million other mythical creatures in it, just ZOMBIES!! I guess if anyone has anything they'd like to discuss let me know.

Season 2 opener was pretty slow. Starting out how the last season ended... sucky!
This is bad. A bad, slow, poor adaptation from the comics. And, hell, I watched it through 4 1/2 seasons... I mean, c'mon, 1st season is great! 2nd is ok. 3rd is meh. But 4th? 4th is "what the hell are the producers doing to this show?" horrible. And now they announce that the 6th (FU*&%ING 6TH!!!) season will have... ZOMBIES?? Isn't this SUPPOSED to be a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SHOW? And they announce zombies as if it was a great turn of events in the show... Really? o.O
No, don't bother telling me what happened to the show after the first half of 4th season. I'm pretty sure I can sum that up in only three syllables: "bla bla bla"...
I give it 2 hearts. And that is because 1st and 2nd seasons really entertained me, despite what they did to some characters (like... what? 19 episodes to kill Shane? Seriously? Why? And why is Lori so annoying? Someone please kill her!! \o/ YESSS! Thank you Carl! That's my boy!! Now I can stop watching this crap! Oh no, wait! The Governor appears! YESS!! ............. Patiently waiting for February 10th...
i dropped this show. i stuck with it for 3 full seasons. i kept watching it cos i really wanted it to be a good show. i knew deep down that it wasnt though. i always believed that it was just on the verge of what i wanted it to be. i havent read the comics and so am not saying that i was comparing it to anything, but man, this just isnt a good show. i think honest trailers best puts together all the things that work against it. i watched the first ep of s04 and just couldnt take it any more. i deleted all 3 seasons in one swift click of the mouse.
Just the 1ª season was a little good, it seems like the are always doing the same thing.
Used to watch Walking dead couple of years ago, left it after it kinda got bored of it. Now trying to rewatch it with my wifey, she wanted to try watch series with zombies (she usually hate zombies) that why i was kinda surprised about it. Now i'v seen only first season completly and just started second season, and slowly but surely trying to get back in the series. Lets try to rewatch this i quess.
Season 3 was AWFUL. Dropped.

Only seen the first ep so far. Seems OK but a tad heavy. Trying to bring myself to watch another ep! defiantly not a show to watch multi eps in a row... or to watch more than once.
Zombies are cool though I suppose, and the effects are really great for a TV show.
It's a terrible shame how bad season 2 is so far. Seriously hope it gets better, I am disappoint. Loved the first season.

Everyone who is thinking of reading the comic books but doesn't want any spoilers ruining his enjoyment of the tv show: don't worry, because it wont. The comic books and the tv shows differ on a few key points. I am not saying that the comic books and the tv shows are completely different, but they are different enough to enjoy both at the same time.
The comics witch i just read on witch this tv show is based (102 issues and still on-going, approximately 30 pages per issue, so about 3060 comic pages in total so far) are far more darker than the tv show is. It really shows that zombies are not the real enemy everyone has to worry about, its other living people. I hope that that will be shown in the next season, but i doubt that the tv show will really capture like the comics have done the lengths that people will go through to survive and what Rick Grimes in particular will do to survive and to keep his family safe.

After season 6 the events becomes more snd more like a puzzle, you need to solve it to be able to understand the context, time-line is messed up, you can get frustrated easily from this show.

First two episodes where great, but the rest of the show contains way to much drama
Loved the first season. This second season.... not so much. A lot of the cool cinematography elements that made the first season feel more like a movie than a tv series are missing from this season. The actors are really all that's holding it together so far, and they're just barely managing.
This is the price that gets paid for having less than half the budget per episode that they had last year. :(
Freaking awesome! Total suspense, great drama; excellent interplay between human beings in apocalyptic circumstances. Watching social norms struggle under the pressure, some surviving, others discarded... the break down of social interaction into an ugly and tense confrontations, with some instances of questionable heroism... brilliant. Brilliant.
So the first season was a great surprise. However, terrible acting, budget cuts, (very) weak plot, and shameless product placement have taken this show out of my collection. I'm really not sure I can even give it a second chance.
Last season was crap. This one started awful so no more walking dead for me
When can I watch them
Season One: 9.0. Incredible emotions, wonderful writing, beautiful set designs. Everything is genuinely perfect. I loved this season to death. Andrew Lincoln is an incredible actor!!!

Mediocre acting, poor writing, and bad story lines, if 95% of the characters got killed off it would be for the better. The first season and a half were decent, after that they started to sit too long and the writers + actors just aren't good enough to carry it.
Impatiently awaiting new season to start in October!

Would never watch this show Bc I thought it was all about Zombie's & wldnt give it a chance. Boy was I WRONG!!! Just had my 4th spinal fusion at age 40 & thank god for the walking dead Bc watching a few hours each day of all 6 seasons made me not just think about how much pain I was in. Def addicted now to both the show & Norm Reedus!!

People get zombified, communities form amongst those that don't -- many get killed or turned into zombies and new uninfected characters arrive to replace them. Repeat this plot outline over and over again and you've got the basic idea of the series. First season was OK, but the repetitive nature of "The Walking Dead" had me bored shortly into season 2.
I think you have to be a bit retarded or undergo a lobotomy to enjoy this show from Season 2 onward. Only then you can relate to erratic and senseless behaviour of most of the main characters and absurd logical errors in the script... I just cannot. I think the screenplay is written by a random brainless monkey just as a stylised background for a mediocre splatter show.
First few seasons are fresh and fun to watch...after that it feels like a real chore to keep up soooooooooooooo bye bye
Ok so this show was just DOPE when it came out with season 1 years ago. The cast and the onscreen chemistry was fantastic. They spent a lot of time building the relationships between the titular characters, slowly unfolding each ones traits and as a result we as viewer's have grown to love and have our own favorite. Now I get it that a post apocalyptic show having a happily ever after ending is ignorant at the least but having the core characters murdered in such a brutal manner just to shock the audience is a cheap tactic that has very evidently backfired on this show.
It averaged 11 million viewers in its prime, and now apparently viewership has fallen to a mere 4 million.
A minor deviance from the novel series is understandable especially when the author hasn't finished his work (like in GoT), but the script writers of this show decided to take matters into their hands, so much so that the graphic novel and the TV series at its finished product will look nothing alike.
Personally, the show is watchable till midway of season 6. If there's anybody planning to watch this now, heed my advice, as soon as the show starts to mention a character called Negan, that's your signal to quit watching.
From Season 7 starts the downward spiral; be it the declining viewership, an unrecognizable atmosphere, the fractured aimless plot (as the groups get split up), and a plethora of new unwanted characters being introduced in the hopes that the audience will be willing to let go of the show's core characters.
. The show has had a different director for every season. And each one gives their own little idiotic spin on it(especially towards the later seasons). As a result, what was once a comprehensive plot has now dwindled into a purposeless cocktail of irrelevant characters having no tangible objective, heading towards what has to be a bottomless pit of doom. It's simply gone beyond the point of any redemption.
NOT SOMETHING I WOULD WATCH
This is the most overrated show ever. And for what? Like 3 minutes of "intense" action and 40 minutes of the slowest fucking plot alongside useless conversations between really boring, bland, sad and angry characters. This is a bad, bad show. It is fucking awful. The show is supposed to be based on the WALKING DEAD! ZOMBIES! Yet, characters get so used to turning into "badass" zombie assassins that they are able to murder zombies within 2 minutes of the episodes. The show spends a shit ton of time on conversational scenes that are so irrelevant. Not to mention the replacement of zombies for protagonists to attack the "bad side" of human people. Not the dead! So irrelevant.
Is it just me that hates Rick Grimes and his stupid family? The series would be much better without them.

Been watching the show from the pilot and the first 6 seasons were solid imo, despite an inconsistency in its pacing. 7 and 8 were not the greatest and definitely took away from what the show once was. 9 and 10 however are the best it's been in years and comes on par with the greatest seasons like 1 and 2. This is just my opinion but I do believe if you stopped at the seasons prior to 9, defo reconsider restarting because it's a masterclass in filmmaking atm.
The show from seasons 1-7 has to be one of the best shows ever on television. After Rick left and they killed off his son, it hasn’t been the same.
