Don't you just love it when a new character is introduced late on in a series or a season, and they just fit perfectly? The new arrival nails the chemistry and tone so completely that it somehow seems to bolster the reality of the show, even if they're meant to be a disruptive. That's what it feels like when Anastasia Hille's foul-mouthed Andrea Kerrigan swans into The Tunnel in its eighth episode, a very The Thick Of It kind of civil servant, playing beautifully off both Clémence Poésy and Stephen Dillane. It's a nicely judged adjustment to the dynamic of the show, and seems to anchor it in a phase of somewhat tiring twist-y f**kery on the writing staff's part.
