"Bart's Inner Child" is a surprisingly poor episode for what had been a high-quality fifth season up until this point. While this one started well, with Homer's scenes providing some pretty funny moments, this episode highly drops in quality once it becomes about Marge and then Bart. With a directionless plot and a forgettable character in Brad Goodman, this is the weakest episode so far this season.
