I went into this expecting it to be rough, and I think I was right but somehow it's also a little better than I expected? It's extremely cheesy and the dialogue/writing is painful at times, but it's actually going for a story that's more nuanced than I expected and incorporating character beats that I definitely didn't expect. So in a way I respect these first two episodes more than I thought I would, but they're still not great. I do recognize that this is geared for a much younger audience than myself, but I'm watching this solely for nostalgia purposes because I grew up on the Tim Allen Santa Clause movies. I'd say so far it provides enough of that nostalgia to be okay, but it's just too cheesy and cringe inducing to be enjoyable so far.
