I am impressed with the delicate touch and the fine line they are walking. Good start to the season.

I was fearing for this show when the police brutality discussion started putting police shows in danger. Having seen some truly, truly terrible attempts at addressing that issue in other shows ("The Neighborhood", oh my, whyyyy) I have to say that I think they managed a good balance her between fitting the cliffhanger, addressing the issue, and not overdoing it. Michael Beach did a good job with his speech and it all fit nicely into his IA role from previous seasons. Had I not known better, I could easily believe that the two previous seasons had been leading up to addressing this exact issue.
