[7.4/10] I like the main story on this one a lot. Pete dating a married woman creates some interesting conflicts for him, and for once, it gives his friends good reasons to bust on him, as opposed to just the random meanness that otherwise permeates the show. Jenny in particular gets in some real good digs here. The way things escalate with Andre angling for a trade in exchange for Pete using his apartment as a love nest is amusing, and the way things escalate into Pete being ”triple-booked” is superb too. Hell, I even love the way that the opening, titular credit card alert involving Pete’s trip to the meatball experience comes back.
What I didn’t like was the drill sergeant girl’s basketball coach. It’s more broad humor, and the adults being willing to do push-ups and wind sprints for her didn’t make any sense. I will cop to laughing at Ruxin being turned on by how domineering she is, but we didn’t need another scene of him whacking it in this show. And the button, with the coach and Pete’s paramour in bed together, felt like a gratuitous throw-in for the show.
The only other thing worth mentioned is that as Taco-based C-stories go, him getting a security shirt and rooting for them like they’re a sports team was just silly enough to work for me.
Overall, the coach-based stuff was a dud, but the other material in the episode was so good that it elevated the episode above The League’s usual standard.
