All I could think was: how do these maidens eat?

The end of this episode was a bit ridiculous, imo. Serena and June having an audible spat by the Lincoln Memorial, where the acoustics would surely help carry their raised voices to the 100s of gathered handmaidens and assorted soldiers/cameramen at the foot of the steps, stretched the level of believability somewhat.

Hmm.. Was Nick's past supposed to be a big reveal? It's clear he's compromised now but since they showed his life from before, I just assumed every man that wasn't a commander when the show started would have been cannon fodder during the coup. They wouldn't need to use rebel men like they needed the women.

I think the show is still keeping alive the possibility that Serena will betray Gilead but it's tiresome at this point. June had the right idea, Serena is petty, small, and empty. She doesn't come across as deluded like Aunt Lydia does, she only seems to care about getting what she wanted, her momentary lapse back in S02 notwithstanding. But I'm sure they'll find a way to rub her nose in it and set her on the path to redemption yet again. Or, I don't know, maybe Sarah Walker is still in there and it's all just a ruse.

It was good but it begins to be a bit ridiculous.

Good example to always practice safe sex — you never know who your partner has slept with before.

This was an incredible episode. As always, the visual metaphors were A+ (bars on the windows, birdcages, the pool cues and balls... that one made me giggle a little, considering) as were some of the verbal ones ("I've lost my lion"). I hate the Waterfords so much. I want to rub their evil faces in every vile thing they've helped bring about. Everything June said to Serena Joy in front of the Lincoln Memorial was... chef's kiss And while June didn't have much choice other than to trust the Swiss, I had a feeling she shouldn't. They stayed neutral during the Holocaust; what made her think they wouldn't do the same in the face of Gilead?

The cinematography is stunning this season!

I hated how in the previous seasons we were made to believe that all governing decisions were made in June's city, and they introduced The Capital. I also didn't like how this season the Handmaids, Marthas are allowed more freedom, such as talking more, mixing duties (for ex. Handmaids serving, getting the door etc.) Their roles were more defined in previous seasons. And then this episode happened.

I have mixed feelings on the score. The introduction of songs with lyrics seems out of place sometimes, as if the makers were adding them simply because they could put their hands on the songs. The show is good enough at portraying emotions and feelings without the need of lyrics. They are often distracting.

This storyline of The Waterfords trying to get Nichole back is starting to bore me and there are still 7 episodes to go. I really hope Serena is playing the long game after her trip to Canada because her swinging backwards and forwards between agreeing with June about the baby then treating her with disdain and changing her mind AGAIN is just too repetitive. Sadly for me, this is the poorest series to date

Some scenes I found hardly bearable, knowing that man is just able to do anything. Tears were dropping.
And this is just a TV-Show...
And btw my first thought was, of course: How would they be able to eat that way?
