I watched the first half of this season last year. I just tried to watch this again and couldn't make it through. Such a lame start.
Chilling & dark... this can easily be our reality
A strong beginning. Great view into the excruciating reality of this world.
No one in the family seems to be enjoying the Ceremony much.
I want them all to burn…
I love being “late” to popular shows and having managed to know practically nothing about it, other than “triggering” and cult. Yet I expected something from the early 19th century or earlier, but no, dystopian present all the way.
I did not know what I expected but definitely it felt something different.
I've read the book a few years ago. Really surprising that the scenes are right as I imagined it when I read it.
I’ve been meaning to try this out... no time like the present #quarantinelife
Wow, I’m hooked. That was one of the most interesting pilot episodes I’ve seen in a while.
well that really was.... . boring
Words can’t describe, blessed be the pilot.
Finally got round to watching this, after hearing many good things. I really don't know why it took me so long to board the hype train though as I thought the first episode was brilliant, and well written. I can't wait for more!
Ok, it's dystopian as fuck, but that does not make a story. This was a good introduction, to show how fucked up this world is. The Ceremony and the particicution are really disturbing. Now waiting to see what the story will be about. Guess they will be some kind of Resistance. The story of how this society came to be might even be more interesting.
It was a very good begining. it was brutal tbh, some scenes were shocking and I mean it in a good sence there aren't a lot of shows airing right now that make you stop after watching an episode to precess what you had just seen because, holly shit. They got me in the first scene.
I have read the book and OF COURSE I HAD TO WATCH THIS
A grim but very compelling watch. The casting is fantastic. I was surprised at how much this held back, having been told it's a horrific story, but it's definitely not a pleasant watch.
Ofglen dropping her masquerade at the end came as something of a relief after all the darkness, but I have to wonder if she's really trustworthy. Is she an Eye?
Right now I'm not sure where it's going, so look forward to the tale unfolding.
This pilot has one of the saddest, shocking and bizarre scenes I've ever seen and a tv show that causes this kind of reaction truly deserves respect
A really promising tv show with a good dystopian plot, it's gonna be tough to watch the probably more graphic scenes to come but I'm already in love with the handmaid's tale
edit: if you, like me, haven't read the book before watching the show, you absolutely should read it.
One of the most intriguing pilots I've seen in quite a while
A really strong beginning. I think I'm going to love this show even though is pretty scary at the same time.
