The Bear: Season 2

2x01 Beef

Continues and expands the dynamic from last season without missing beat, with the pitch scene my personal highlight. Gofastboatmojitos!

So glad this is back and that we didn't have to wait 2+ years for it, like most shows now, miss this chaotic blessing of a show

They didn't skip a beat. A direct continuation, expansion on side characters we didn't get much face time with last season, the sharp wit and humour; it's all here. I hope they can keep up this tempo and energy throughout the whole season. It's so great to be back on this ride with Carmy and the gang once more. Especially loved the scene where they awkwardly tried to go home and play the waiting game for the six months until opening, but none of them could see it through, not even for a second. That's purpose Richie, that's what it feels like. When every waking second feels agonisingly long and wasted because you're not working towards what you want.
The temptation to binge is here, but I want these 10 episodes to last as long as possible.

Love The Bear, great to see it back and that the cast individually are getting more to do. I still can't get into Ayo's Sydney at all. I find her really off putting and arrogant. I really hope they are not alluding to a Carmen - Sydney relationship, and that scene was more to show how work consumes them.

Wait, what was the book Richie was referencing? The one about the train watcher? Is this like the toy story thing from oitnb? Or like thg scene in bottoms?

back on my bullshit with my favourite anxiety-ridden Chicago restauranteur. everything in this ep was great. the SydCarmy dynamic, Nat being brought on board Tina becoming sous more details on Marcus' life. I'm still mixed on Richie because while I think he's a well-written and performed character I am weary of how much time media spends pontificating on this particular type of insecure macho man. I'm not saying their stories aren't worth telling and `Richie adds a lot to the ensemble but I /am/ tired of this type of charcter
