This was one of my favorite episodes of Ted Lasso in recent memory, there was a lot of great character work here. Ted was more or less a supporting character in this episode as they focused in on a lot of the side characters, giving them all some really great moments. The standout for me was Roy, who we see dealing with his breakup with Keeley in the most Roy way ever which was really funny as I love the humor he brings. But then we see a great moment between him and Trent Crimm (who I am very happy to have more of by the way), and a really touching moment at the end as he opens up to Ted and Trent about his time at Chelsea, which was also clearly a metaphor for his relationship with Keeley. That's just smart writing and it's so cathartic when he drops his Roy facade to open up to others. I loved the moment between him and Jamie as well, and am hardcore rooting for a bromance between the two of them. I really liked seeing Keeley's more subtle way of dealing with the breakup, as well as how she's handling her new job, and Rebecca had a great standout moment too. I liked what they hinted at with Jamie and how he seems to feel about Zava joining the club, and would be happy to see more attention given to him this season as he's become one of the most likable characters for me. I'm also excited to see the dynamic that Zava brings to the team and how everyone deals with that. And the final moment shows Ted again feeling lonely as everyone else has something to do at the end of the day and he's left alone, really hinting at the internal struggle he's going through about what's really keeping him at Richmond and away from his son back home. They're setting up his season arc in subtle ways that I really enjoy, and I'm excited to see how it all plays out for him.
againnnn, I'm in love with this showwww
Trent Crimm, Richmond AFC. He back baebae!!
Episode 10/10, funny, dramatic, everyone had their share, really great.
Dani played in El Chapos youth league :joy:
Jamie Tartt --> Jack Grealish
Zava --> Zlatan Ibrahimovic
The names even have the same initials!
Zlatan the king is here
For some reason I was having problems feeling this episode right until the end but just like Richmond, they pulled it together and scored in my heart.
ZAVA!! But seriously this show just keeps getting better and the roy stuff was my fav!
I've always liked the character Trent Crimm and changing up the dynamic by letting him in to the club seems to work really well.
Adding Zava to an impressive lineup of players is a good strategy. But volatile nature of Zava will fuck up the team dynamics. I hope Ted will pull off a magic trick and make him more approachable like he did with Jamie tartt.
Lovely.
Lots of focus on Keeley and her new job. Plus on Roy post breakup. There are some interesting developments in the big storylines.
Show is full of emotional moments and it always nails them because it’s so smart.
10/10
Very touching, funny, and well cyclically written
This episode felt better.
Enjoying the dynamic with Keeley's PR firm as well. I think there is gonna be some line walking there as she moves away from who she used to be (party girl) to who she is and wants to be now.
Took me a few more beats and a slight accent slip to place where I knew her CFO from as well. It's the every charming Mary from Ghosts :blush: The snow globe moment was cute. I think they'll both have value to bring to one another.
P.S. Coach Beard's screams were too silly. Felt like an choice. As though the punchline is 'man has girly scream'. Meh
Is Ziva, a rip off version of Zlatan Ibrahimovic? XD It's too good. bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahah
You can see Tart (Phil Dunster) leaving character and smiling when Roy is shouting about Trent Crimm :rofl:
Thick and thin...there's some deep stuff here, and tears of joy after. (Love this shit!)
Ted Lasso continues to be magic!
Adoring the concept of Trent seeing the worst in people until Ted started publicly seeing the best in people. It's so nice simply seeing positivity. Even small things like Tartt being nicer to the other players. Roy giving Trent a second chance, Keeley being nice about all the snow globes. UGH this is so healing. (btw if the next time Keeley goes into that office, there's snow globes everywhere and not just confined in the corner, I will cry)
I don't trust Trent Crimm. I'm afraid he is a spy working for the other team!
Looking forward to this every week. Still the best show out there.
Best cold-open of the entire show. That's Keeley's version of The Office (UK).
This show is still not about soccer. I dare to say, that all soccer scenes in the stadium or on the pitch are actually quite bad (btw, most likely, the equalizer was offside). Overall, I like it though. We see more of the girls this season. Good. I also like Zava (because I like Zlatan). This press-conference could very well have happened exactly like that with Zlatan. I wonder how good their parody of him will be.
Best line:
Keeley: "It's a thin line between stalking and romance"
If this is really going to be the last season (and I’m pretty sure it is) then Richmond getting the new supposed football star is soooooo boring to me. To be fair, it’d be boring to me anyway. Remember in season one when a major plot point and source of conflict was that Jaimie was the hot “new” mega talented player? bringing that up for no particular reason…..maybe this new guy will break his legs or something next episode. that’s my 11:11 wish.
