Improves on the first season, but not by a whole lot. Still just a solid and likable show that's fun and easy to watch. One negative I do have is that the main conflicts weren't paced very well this season. Hardman was the big bad for most of the season but they beat him with some time still left and put in another conflict around the finale so it was just a big awkwardly paced out. Aside from this and still some overly melodramatic moments that don't really hit, I don't really have many issues with this season. It was hitting on a character level, and especially on character relationships. Mike and Rachel's relationship was paced well and ends on a good note we've been waiting to see for a while. Less emphasis on building up Harvey and Mike's relationship but we got that last season and this season we can just enjoy it. Instead, Harvey and Jessica get a lot of development as a duo and I found this to be pretty good. Jessica becomes much more of a character this season individually as well which was nice, and the season also did wonders for Louis' character. He is easily the funniest part of the show and a character with perhaps the most complexity and depth. He has run away as my favorite character after I didn't like him at all early in season 1.
The show also improved after shedding the character's from Mike's personal life before he took this job, which was a weak part of last season for me. And it makes sense as his professional life starts to take over and become his personal life as well. The ending of this season with the falling out of Harvey and Mike worked on multiple levels as well. Overall, I'll remember this season as the one that turned Jessica into a main character and introduced us to Hardman who proved to be a pretty good adversary.
