Three eulogies and a breakdown. The three are all great, having a nice slope flow from harsh truth, to a more funeral/corporate-friendly version, to finally an outright emotionally personal reminiscence, with all acknowledging Logan's monstrosity to some degrees. Strong and Snook are fantastic as expected, but I didn't expect Cromwell, even without him trying to sugarcoat the dead, to be the first one to pierce my defense first.
Someone should probably keep Roman away from tall places and ledges
Interesting that even the "other side" eulogies made Logan look really bad (as they should).
Woof woof!
I could bet that Matsson is going to screw Shiv, and get Greg as CEO. That would be an hilarious ending :joy:
The scene with Marcia and Kerry :sob::sob::sob::sob:
Kendall is stepping up to take the throne
Last Succession Sunday/Monday next week, y'all
Get ready
Ladies and gentlemen, Kieran Culkin, the 2023 Emmy winner.
Remind me to never "pre-grieve"
Another excellent episode. I felt my heart ache at the parallels made between Logan & Ewan’s brotherhood and Kendall & Roman, the key connections between the women Logan loved, and so many other thematic elements utilized in the masterful fashion the final season of this show has excelled at doing. Can’t wait for the finale.
Also four words.
Kirean. Culkin. Emmy. Now.
This is by far one of, if not the best episode in the entire series. Jeremy Strong puts on quite the brave face here, which gives Sarah Snook and especially Kieran Culkan plenty of room to shine. It's nearly 100% pure, raw, emotion, and perfectly displayed here. We do of course get some massive power changes but they aren't the primary focus, which seems appropriate.
Some gorgeous direction and gorgeous writing do a great job of complimenting some fantastic writing and I am here for it.
It really is a wonder how so many shows airing right now are providing some of the best TV ever. Succession, Barry, Ted Lasso, the fact that there is a new episode dropping each week for all three of those shows at the same time is ridiculous, we really are living in the golden age for TV. The series penultimate episode for Succession is once again a spectacular one-two punch of dialogue and performance. Kieran Culkin shines in an emotionally devastating yet cathartic scene, Jeremy Strong once again completely embodies Kendall in a great monologue, and Sarah Snook reaches an impressive balance in emotionality. The dialogue is written so well but these actors just elevate each and every page from the script. A really great moment between all four siblings as they come together to support Roman in his inevitable breakdown. Lots of great character moments throughout especially for the three main siblings as power dynamics shift and you can feel the end coming. I genuinely love that I have no idea who will win this battle and how the show will end, I will be anxiously on the edge of my seat for the finale. Great camera work in this episode as well.
I thought the funeral segment went on for too long. I wasn't too crazy about the speeches.
Other than that, great setup for the finale.
“She was my Kerry” ahhhhhhhhh that was pretty funny having the 4 of them sit up front:skull:
Right as roman started to walk towards the podium I knew he was going to breakdown:sob::sob::sob:
I love Hugo omfg “wolf wolf”
I love watching Kendal slowly build his empire, even tho I’m worried lol because I know it’ll definitely not
Crazy that Lukas, Pennywise, and Floki are all related
Another great episode.. I can't believe there is only one episode left. So much that can happen to end it all up. Can't wait, but will be sad that it is ending.
roman gets beat up and cries, 10/10
Woo full on full on
That was peak Roman in recent episode.
Considers himself a maker, while always relying on playing dumb or wreckless when something is inconvenient.
When the emotions become too much he breaks apart, looking for release in mindless confrontation. And he bites the hand reached to him, lying on the floor.
Just guessing here, but it has to end with Matsson acquiring Waystar, right?
I mean if they keep the company, the kids could just keep fighting forever, especially after inheriting their faters shares. So it wouldn't really be a definitive series finale without them losing their grip on Waystar.

Every episode is a documentary of a mess. It's a small world up there and I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it. The world below is rioting, Rava has left and Jess is leaving too. The people outside the bubble can't handle it. The people in the bubble can't be people. Roman shows his humanity when he fucks up and it ruins everything for Waystar. Goes to show that humanity doesn't exist up there. In such a delicate turn, all power falls back on to Kendall and he slowly rounds up the posse to take control of the company just like he was going to in Season 1. Kendall is the real successor, through all his fuck ups and his clashes with Dad, he knows exactly what to do in a business battlefield. And here's the thing, so does Shiv, but not as much as Ken does. She's doing a great job playing Matsson around and landing her spot. In the end Roman is the loser sibling and even though he tried to prove that he can be powerful, in the wake of his father and his siblings, he's still nothing.
Some nice moments where the wives and sides banding together, Tom expressing his genuine concern and Shiv being there with him, and Ewan's speech. I'm am always grateful for the performances the main cast gives and likewise irritated with how unwell these characters are to be working with such responsibilities.
