This episode is a serious, action-packed treat for Star Wars fans and action lovers. It features a fast-paced storyline, stunning visuals, and excellent screenplay. The animation is reminiscent of anime and truly captivating. There's nothing to complain about in this episode.
[7.5/10] This one is astonishing to look at, but not much in the way of story. Maybe it’s just because the other shorts so far feel like they’ve extended what Star Wars is and can be. This one, instead, feels pretty traditional in terms of the Jedi/Sith/light/dark/mercy/revenge business it goes through.
Still, the visuals alone are worth cueing this one up for. The imagery of the prophetic pit in the Outer Rim, the lightsaber battle between a cocky sith lord and a vengeful former padawan, the race against time in the air and in the speeder, and the explosive setting of a giant pair of interconnected statues the tower into the sky and glow with the light and dark energies all make this one a marvel for the eye.
That said, the characters are pretty basic, which is perhaps to be expected in an eighteen minute short. They have arcs, mostly steeped in the theme of understanding that good and evil are connected, which means evil can never be vanquished but hope can never be extinguished. But again, all pretty basic and in line with the usual Star Wars schtick. The dialogue in particular leaned a bit too much into opaque purple prose for my tastes.
Overall though, still one worth watching on the back of its stunning imagery, and the short that feels the most like it wants to be the pilot for an ongoing series of adventures.
"Journey to the Dark Head" has an animation style that is again more to my liking. I didn't really understand all the story elements, but at its core, it tells a relatively generic Star Wars story. The style of the Korean Studio Mir is really quite nice, so it enhances the whole narrative. The result is a solid episode of "Star Wars Visions."
This is the first episode this year where I'd wish it would be longer. Because this one did what I conceive "Visions" to be. Namely taking the Star Wars lore and putting it in a different setting.
Really liked the overall message this story told. Art style was nice. Nothing to complain about there.
Ugh, this concept is so lukewarm and ill-fitting. A generic Jedi vs. Sith war could possibly be stopped if the head of a Dark Side statue is destroyed, preventing the rain that falls along its stone from making vague prophecies? The Force is not generic anime sorcery. It doesn't have magic trinkets. And why would the Jedi send someone who obviously can't control his emotions? This is terrible.
Putting Japanese as an audio is far better than hearing the original audio. This makes is more watchable.
Some of the animation was gorgeous and the story was serviceable but the characters and specifically the voice acting was just awful
Full season of these characters or art style please.
A perfectly fun action adventure short, as expected from Studio Mir. This is really just Korra, But Star Wars in animation, tone, and feel. Which is entertaining, but not stunning or groundbreaking.

This is more my speed/style.
Star Wars and Anime were meant to be together. I hope we get a canon Star Wars Anime some day.
