You just can’t beat the Aardman charm
It is immediately obvious that the studio behind "Wallace and Gromit" was at work in "I Am Your Mother". If you like this claymation style, you'll definitely enjoy it here. Personally, though, the story was a bit too clichéd and predictable for my taste. None of the characters are really likeable here, which dampens my overall enjoyment.
Literally the only episode of Visions I've like this far. Give Aardman a series, it'll be better kids show than Star Wars Resistance
Could've leaned into the comedy more for this one and I would've rated it higher, but overall this one was fun.
A lot of Star Wars easter eggs but I still say it's the worst so far. And the ones before didn't lay the bar very high.
It's predictable from the get go, it wasn't very funny and yet again I sadly have to point out I can't connect with the character being a teen with teen problems. Which seems to be the thing this season.
From the preview picture I hope the next one will be much better.
"I am your mother, you listen to me". Meghan Trainor rated this episode 10/10.
UK Hera Syndulla. This was a funny one, and a nice tone shift from the previous two shorts.

[7.8/10] This one was delightful. I’ll confess, despite their longstanding prominence, I haven't seen much from the Aardman studio, but frankly, this short may very well lead to me seek more of their stuff out.
I’m a sucker for someone bringing a comic tone to Star Wars. This short fits neatly into the same boxes as the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials, and the Yoda Chronicles lego show in taking a sillier, more whimsical approach to the Galaxy Far Far Away, which pays real dividends from the jump.
I love the comic choices here, from the decision to make Wedge a Zapp Brannigan/Gilderoy Lockhart-style merchandisable hero, to the Original Trilogy shoutout of a young Wookiee threatening another competitor by pulling the arms off its little doll. There’s a goofy, spritely tone to this whole thing that makes it easy to have a good time apart from the story.
But I also love the story here! You can only do so much in eleven minutes, but “I Am Your Mother” plays not only on longstanding Star Wars tropes of speeder races and cantankerous droids, but also more relatable archetypes of snobby nepo babies and kids who are a little embarrassed of their parents.
That's the heart of this one. The young Twi’lek at the center of the story is embarrassed of her mom, like so many teenagers are. The way the short plays on the close band they had when she was a kid, the awkwardness of her boisterous mum now, but the way her colorful personality doesn’t detract from her bold ways on the track or her love and understanding for her daughter, is all downright lovely. There’s a beautiful heart to this one, and it adds an affecting element to the sillier comic parts of this one.
Overall, another winner from season 2 of Visions, with a short that brings a wonderfully lighter style to the visuals and tone, but delivers a roundly touching story amid the silliness.
