Although you learn a thing or two about 60s cross-promotion, I feel very much betrayed. This should have never been part of the show. Even though the story is (surprisingly) kind of okay-ish and Spock petting the cat is cute, the whole idea of airing 50 minutes barely disguised promotion for a totally different CBS show mustn't be rewarded: 1/10

PS: that's how time travel now works in this show? The Captain says they are on a archaeological mission and that's why they traveled to 1960s Earth? I mean that's maybe a convincing reason, but there's not a single explanation on how they traveled back in time.

That sonic looks fun. I wonder how many settings it has.

What. The hell. Was this? Quite easily my least favourite episode that I've seen. This mess didn't seem to know what it wanted to be, and forgot the basics of storytelling. I have no idea what they were going for or what was supposed to be happening. Most of the episode seemed to be people wandering aimlessly around. Did they not have access to the main cast for this week? Scotty spend the episode staring at a TV. How long did that damn rocket take to launch? Ugh.

This was my favorite episode so far--mainly for the performance by the actress who played Roberta (although it was horrifying when they implied she'd get together with the Seven guy). I had no idea it was attempting to launch a separate series.

Yes, not really a Star Trek episode but those kind of cross-promotion pilots were not unusual then. Better than a clip-show. And to be honest I might have actually watched that show.
