The documentary about living on benefits meets people struggling to survive island life. They include Tina, who is struggling to cope on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent - despite turning her life around and kicking her heroin habit, she is now finding life on the island tough thanks to her mobility problems. Single parent Matt lives in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, where the lack of jobs makes life a constant struggle, while Chrissy on Canvey Island in Essex is refusing to pay her rent as she believes her home is not up to scratch. As a result, however, she is facing eviction.
