All I wanted from the end of this episode was for Merlin to use magic for Gwen and I couldn’t get that. Hopefully she won’t give up on what’s “different” about Merlin anytime soon...
The episode was exciting but sort of a standalone story, as it had nothing to do with Morgana and her attempts to kill Arthur and gain the throne of Camelot, there is no proof that Lamia was in her employ, though what went through Agravaine's mind when Gaius said that Lamia kills men with embrace was probably his hoping that she would embrace Arthur ;) Gwen and Merlin bond and he almost reveals to her that he has magic, and Arthur and Gwen are officially a couple, the affection between them is emphasised. I wonder whether Merlin had not tried his magic on Lamia earlier on, as soon as he noticed she had an eerie influence on the knights, inducing them to "out of character" violence towards himself and Gwen? If I were in Merlin's shoes, I would have started to solve the problem with magic as soon as possible.

We all know the reason Merlin's "special" is that he's a sorcerer. But from Gwen's perspective, unless she figured this out, shouldn't she come to the conclusion that Merlin is gay?
