Luke gets his ass kicked by Bushmaster, Claire leaves to give herself some alone time and Misty follows up on a new lead. We learn a little about Bushmater but not enough to know what his ultimate end goal is going to be. Also, Mariah has a mole but she has yet to know anything about it but Shades seems to have figured it out. The best part of this episode was Danny Rand's offer for Misty to get a bionic arm. More badass Misty is exactly what we need.
The music is cooler than the storyline…
OK, this time the acrobatics worked, that was hella cool. Though reminder: Luke doesn't even feel a grenade explosion, so how strong can Bushmaster hit to leave such a lasting effect ?
Anyway there's a guy that can take down Luke Cage easily, and on either side of the law, there's only Misty and Shades to realize how it could be an issue ?
Shades is a little more back to his old self. He handles shit. He spots the issues. Much better than in the previous episodes.
Tilda just became the central character, getting involved with Mariah, Bushmaster, and Luke. But is she really experimenting with Bushmaster's formula like this, openly, in her shop ?
Don't know if it was the choice of songs, but damn this episode's band sounded good. But it used to be mostly when something was happening in the club. Now we get a gratuitous full song music video in the middle of the episode ?
And wow, how did Mariah survive until now ? What was the point of being so high and insulting with Bushmaster ? You think you're going to scare him ? The guy can beat up Luke Cage. It's not intimidation if the only thing you do is being insulting. This scene could have been a nice confrontation between the villains, it was just ridiculous.
Still a better than average episode.
The lack of screen time for our main character here is a testament to how uninteresting he is. And these Marvel show episodes typically end with a solid, fairly-intense cliffhanger. This one? Luke gets sued.
Sounds about right.
When the episodes are eh, the music more than makes up for it.
