Another emotional episode of Daredevil. I'm glad we learned more about how Foggy and Matt's relationship developed into where it is now, with us seeing them become close friends as roommates in college, sharing intimate moments with each other and having fun spending time together, and with them both wanting to pursue law as a career, to seek justice for those who were wronged (well Matt more so than Foggy) and make a real difference in the world. We also saw some more insight into Matt from their backstory, how Matt doesn't want to become a immoral lawyer who defends corporations over those who are actually suffering, with him convincing Foggy to start a joint business as attorneys at law, even it its going to be more financially difficult and less secure for them. And man, seeing scenes scenes of their backstory cut next to current day, where their relationship is currently strained after Foggy learned the truth about Matt, how Matt was hiding these powers and this alter-identity of Daredevil from him for all these years, with Foggy now believing their entire friendship was built on this foundation of lies and that there is nothing genuine between the them anymore, Matt was just pretending to be his friend when in reality he was keeping all these secrets from him about who he is, was just painful to watch, with those scenes being placed together really emphasizing how ruined their friendship currently is. And man, seeing Matt break down crying as Foggy was becoming devastated at realizing how much Matt lied to him and becoming disgusted with the kind of person Matt is was heartbreaking to watch. Luckily for Matt though, Foggy kept the secret from Karen, although I have a sneaking suspicion she would like the fact that Matt is daredevil. Also, regarding Karen x Ben, its seeming like Ben is now retiring from the investigation team, after facing the reality that his wife is dying and there's nothing he could do about it (after losing the hospital extension to keep her there), and now wanting to stay by her side as she spends her final days here. Although of course Karen can't let Ben off the hook so easily, with Karen being driven by a naive sense of justice and young ambition to expose the corruption infesting Hell's Kitchen, seek justice for how Union Allied, and ultimately Wilson Fisk has wronged her and others she cares about, with her believing Ben is crucial to this mission. And Karen took Ben out to this luxurious nursery home, hoping Ben could transport her here and continue the mission. Surprisingly, at the nursery home, they met Wilson's mother, Mrs. Vistain, and it seems like she may tell the two about what Wilson did to his father. Speaking of Wilson Fisk, its seeming like he's got things under control again, although now his colleagues are doubting how trustworthy Fisk truly is, if he would kill them off as easily as he did Nobu for the sake of his ambition. And in his conservation with Madame Gao, they made it clear that Fisk may be losing sight of his vision to rebuild Hell's Kitchen, with his relationship with Vanessa changing the type of man he is, making him more vulnerable, and with Fisk potentially becoming the snake who tried biting more than he could chew, becoming blinded by his ambition. And at the end of today's episode, where Fisk held a party, looks like things are going bad for him again, with someone poisoning all the drinks, including what his partner Vanessa drank, which could cause her death.

Episode focuses on Foggy and Matt, as we see a rift with Foggy's new discovery of Matt's secret life, we also go back into memory lane: how they meet, their friendship and choice to work together, interns and their decision to be independent lawyers, all the key points in their friendship that has lead them to the present. It was great seeing male friends allowed to be emotionally distraut over betrayal and pain. To see them cry, to see them break cause they're fighting with their bff.
On the flip side, Karen and Ben inch closer to the truth Fisk has been trying to hide for so many years. It's a dangerous that they are playing. Ben knows what he's stepping into, but Kare is pushed by a righteous need.
Meanwhile, Fisk is moving along the chessboard on the underbelly of the city while showcasing a different persona, that of charity and progress, in the light. However, this comes at a price as a fundraising event is attacked, with Vanessa in the crosshairs. But who is shooting at Fist? His allies? His enemies? Was he the target, or was she, who now holds his heart?
Episode moves the plot along while resolving certain tensions that are needed to set up the season finale. Overall good episode.
