I Loved the reference to the Plot episode !
My expectations for this season are so high !
Not a bad start to the season.
Ella's hyper enthusiasm seems really forced and it doesn't put Aimee Garcie in the best light when it comes to acting skills. Lauren German's acting has gotten better over the seasons and she is now fun to watch. But the detective/murder-solving aspect of the episode felt out of place. I mean it's always a bit forced, trying to do the episode specific murder solving thing while having a main plotline going on in the back. But now that we have so many characters already, who are alive, cutting down on the murder mystery part might make the episodes even better. Let's see where the season goes.
Since we can't continue the Mr. Said Out tradition, they chose to reference the beginning of the very first episode as the starter to this season instead,
Chloe left Trixie with her mom for 6 weeks just so she could spend time with Lucifer? Right after Chloe lost her father? And while I'm talking about how great of a mother Chloe is, I found it rather odd that she ended up in heaven last episode. DAn dying should NOT have been her only source of guilt.
It's so strange seeing someone have tension with their father and not hearing Lucifer chime in.
So, I've never actually shipped Lucifer and Chloe. Despite that, there's some chemistry between them. Not enough to make lovey-dovey scenes not feel forced, but some. That said, Maze and Eve continue to have NO chemistry. It's a shame because I liked Eve in season 4 when she was full of wonder and twisted innocence. Now, she's just generically happy and lives for Maze, a demon she spoke to for all of 10 minutes while trying to get Lucifer to love her.
I knew this stupid "I miss being a detective" conflict would happen as soon as Chloe said she was quitting. Literally no one told her to do that in the first place. Funny how she's more concerned about working again after 6 weeks than seeing Trixie.
Maze really needs to stop giving everyone whiplash. She just said she wanted to be Queen of Hell. Now, she is once again discovering that she likes Earth. Same lessons, different season.
They STILL haven't given Amenadiel his necklace back?
Linda should just become the official therapist for celestials...

I have a feeling that this season is gonna suck.
Poor Dan! Heaven is just so far away.

The last episode of season 5 would've been a really lame series finale, so I really hope they came up with something better this time around. This was an all right premiere, but nothing special. Maze and Eve working through their issues with a little bit of nudging from Linda was nice and their engagement brought a huge smile to my face. They look so damn good together too! I love them. Chloe and Lucifer continue to be adorable. The case wasn't super interesting, but the setting was kinda fun. And I'm really curious who's sitting on the throne of Hell. Could it be one of Lucifer or Maze's siblings?
