[5.5/10] This wasn't bad exactly, just kind of uninspired. The opening round-up made quick work of the latest Trump administration news, and the ads for the Maury show were easy laughs but perfectly fine.
But I found the main segment, about NRATV, pretty mild. Don't get me wrong, the shows Oliver & Co. put on display from the channel were various shades of ridiculous and a little disturbing, but LWT didn't really have a point of view or much of a thesis in the way it addressed them. It was just pointing and laughing. This was basically just John Oliver doing The Soup. And hey! I like The Soup, but I expect better, something more informative and well-reasoned, from Last Week Tonight.
