The episode was structured back-to-front in terms of building up to a climax. It started with a cliffhanger conclusion to the previous episode then went back and forth between several sub-plots while the intensity dissipated steadily. It seems this episode was setting up the action for the next couple, it was a bit of a soap opera but set up a lot of conflicts (too many?) for the next couple of episodes to resolve. No doubt there will still be unanswered questions that will lead into a potential 3rd season which seems like a no-brainer at this point.
While the overall storyline works, especially given the comic book origins and style of the show, there were a few moments that I feel could have been addressed better (and perhaps will be later. The idea that the squids are weak individually but super strong together seems like a wishy-washy way of giving them undefined powers so they can end up being more or less powerful to facilitate different turns in the story. Invincible seemed to struggle as much with them as the others did and the shots of him punching them individually seemed pointless. I guess they could be working on the idea that he still hasn't fully developed control of his powers but the big break in releasing episodes makes plot devices like that less effective without restating them (i’m only coming up with excuses now as i write this rather than it all working while watching the show). How did the Jason Manzukis’ voiced character survive that in a cohenerant way? There was no explanation and I can't remember anything about him that would make sense of it. Sorry to see Kate die but such deaths help to give the story more weight and make the viewer worry that regular characters won't survive… although they can always come up with some nonsense to revive her if they choose to.
it not out. where it???
Are we sure this week? lol

That was a good episode, but the ending makes me so confused on how this will be wrapped up in just 2 episodes. There is the Rick/Donald plotline, the Amber breakup plotline, the mad scientist stuff, the brother of Mark, the Nolan execution and Viltrumite meeting council thing, and the sceptid or whatever they're called.
