why is everyone in this show so fucking stupid. yes, i am annoyed by your "kindness" if that kindness means forgiveness for the pedophile while keeping a woman hostage in your house . i feel sorry for the vicar's son tho he'd have to deal with the repurcussions

None of this makes sense, but I like the dialogue. But again, the main problem is that events are completely utterly unnatural, it's very difficult not to think "this could have gone in so many other ways other than this one specific that is the less logical applied to a real world".
I can tell you already how the case will be solved:
Everyone will read "don't believe the Vicar, he's a peedo" when Stanley will be the only one to read this completely unnatural message in the way that Edgar actually meant.
I bet my left ball on that.
