It took a little time, but I'm starting to enjoy this season. I really like Jon Hamm's comedic timing.

Muriel is so oddly adorable in her utter cluelessness.

the show continues to be a series of very fun scenes that fail to be tied together by an interesting overarching plot. it's kinda shocking how limited the scope of the show is now given the end of the world stakes of season 1.

Rewatch: even on a rewatch this episode is incredibly patchy and messy - we have aziraphale carefully correcting muriel at the start, showing that he is familiar with human customs, but later in the episode he then goes to the pub and says things like "ink slinger" and acts even more out of touch, effectively doing a muriel himself...

While the body snatching is supposed to be a moral dilemma, it's not really one because the "badness" of cutting up bodies really doesn't seem all that bad to make elspeth seem like a horrible person for doing what she can to survive

This really is the weakest episode of the season held together by fun things like aziraphale & crowley talking to muriel or the driving scene

I wish I could rate this more than 10 simply for David finally being Scottish in good omens

The flashback part is a bit less interesting. Still nice to see the pair's old adventures, but Aziraphale's greying morality is a bit weird here. It's been thousands of years since the Job thing, so I can understand he'd still need to be convinced on the good sides of stealing corpses, but on the virtues of being poor, really ? Though I guess he needs to still be in a before season 1 state.

And since Aziraphale is less, angelic let's say, than he used to be, we get Muriel to play the role of the totally out of touch angel, and this is great. So clueless and innocent, and gleefully enjoying her experience.

Little fun bit on Aziraphale playing with the car.

The idea of the mystery jukebox is good, but it's not really investigated the main story does not really advance, and we're already at half the season. At least we get a impending doom prophecy to be in line with the original.

The Maggie and Nina part is still boring, and still unrelated despite the improvised cover-up side story.

I always love all the care and detail that's put into every aspect of this show! Characters, set design, music, plot threads, big ideas… it all comes together so marvelously. The romance is mwah, of course, and I love how the small stories are fitting into a bigger picture. I cannot wait to see where this season goes…

How many minisodes can one stitch together from "aziraphale has a rigid morality, crowley is secretly nice". It's been like... 5000 years since the book of job, surely aziraphale has a less rigid morality??
