Homelander arriving to "save the day" was so anti-climatic but so onbrand for The Boys universe that I'll allow it
One hell of a finale, but the runtime was very short imo, <30m.
Solid season overall.
omgmgmgmgmgmgmg i was waiting for those last minutes hhaha, welcome backkk
Strange finale. Loved the Homelander appearance, and I didn't see that twist coming at the end. But I feel like this season has just been all over the place. Pacing is really strange, character relationships and development is quite rushed which makes certain moments feel very forced and unearned. I've enjoyed the season and I'm excited for season 2, but this is definitely not nearly on the level of The Boys.
This was a really bad season finale
A short but fun fresh spinoff for "The Boys" universe. Not gonna lie, I screamed when Marie blew off Cate's arm. Then Homelander shows up and attacks Marie?! I read from articles that this show would tie into The Boys and vice versa but damn, what an ending! Of course it had to end on a cliffhanger! We need The Boys Season 4 now!
They do that thing too many times in this and the Boys where something happens and the agenda is twisted so easily. How are Sam and Cate portrayed good at all in the media and why would they be Voughts target for the guardians? Also they wouldn’t be on board with that at all. It feels like they just ended it because they wouldn’t be able to explain it.
It's tense and gory in the usual The Boys fashion, although I feel like they just sped up everything in the beginning and previous episode so that they can have this "wreak havoc" all out in this episode.
As a season finale though... it feels like this IP is starting to show a similar symptoms to MCU: each ending has to be a setup for another season/series/film. It's a huge cliffhanger. It doesn't really settle the story with Marie and co, albeit they did close the arc and begin a new one. What happened to the school? What happened after the laser? Why the Guardians of Godolkin twist at the end - and how is it possible, with everyone there clearly witnessing who the villains were? It just raises more questions and feels like not making sense.
Additionally, some of the characters made some really terrible decisions with their hero syndrome, but I guess I can suspend the disbelief because they're still teenagers after all.
fucking home lander (derogatory statement)
I don't watch the boys so I didn't really care for the cameos in the end but overall the episode was great till the end
A spin off done right. First season was great. Milder than The Boys in my opinion... or maybe we just got so used to the gore.
A nice set up for the second season and potential to merge the shows when needed.
Crazy ending. Set's up nicely for season 2. :thumbsup_tone1:
Wtf with that ending, it was kinda stupid but maybe this is there version of cliffhanger? Anyway will be waiting for season 2, would like to see her starting popping more heads as her powers are really OP.
What a delightful mess of gore
neeeever, neeeeever i will guess that final! I'm shocked
The boys is wayyyyyyy better !
This show wasn’t bad but the story the actions the blood are better in the boy series !
Good luck making an entire campus of students seeing what actually happened shut up about it. So many people must've seen it was Cate doing it all, makes no sense.
The series needed so many more minutes in the last episodes.
Also I knew from the beginning Sam was a little shit to kill off.
I'm so pissed at the ending but I should have predict it even tho I barely know The Boys.
Nah it's starting to annoy me how stuff gets covered up soooo easily in this universe; a whole campus saw Cate and Sam murdering people and Cate even livestreamed killing that one guy??? Vought can't get away with EVERYTHING all the time. And Cate's murder spree and arc felt rushed and forced and I'm not a fan of the abrupt ending either.
Fun finale, cool to see Homelander and Butcher. Overall a fine season, started and ended quite strong but struggled a bit in the middle for me.
was into it until they cut everything short with a soyface mcu ass homelander cameo and ended it with a super shitty cliffhanger, this whole show feels like everything the boys tries to parody
Was a bit lacklustre in the end and the CGI of the kids bopping around and blasting people just looked really poor. Maybe that's just coz of all the bad acting though.
The season started off interesting but was pulling it's punches by the end.
And the Butcher appearance at the end was cheap and pointless. The Boys universe has become a meme of itself at this point. It'll be enough to entertain the common folk though I suppose.
I think it was pretty good idea to flip the script. By making Butcher-esque character to be the main bad moving plot towards weapon of mass destruction.
Whenever, Butcher went on the rant along the lines of "they are all the same". He did read as racist/sexist schmuck that went too far. But the story often supported his radical views. And the bastard is charismatic.
So, I like where writers went, but I'm not sold on how we got there. Cate had the potential to be more in the gray, someone like Magneto. Oh, well.
Overall, I enjoyed characters, cast, setting. Looking forward to seeing at least some of the characters in The Boys. Virus not a bad plot device for the main series. Homelander acting stupid feels accurate to his character. Neuman is once again a great threat with absolutely stupid love for gore instead of quitter heart attacks that won't reveal Supe involvement... but, hey The Boys never were subtle or smart show in that regard, either
Don't quite get the need for the last twist. It raises more questions then it should. There is no way that Homelander doesn't know that he didn't killed the traitors. So why does he need them? Did Vought somehow convince him to keep them alive? Why would he agree to that?
The story aims to have as much butchery as possible. Very little of it makes sense, but the ending is particularly incomprehensible; it is meant to shock, but above all it disappoints.
Lots of loose story ends - Much of the story is left unfinished, but there are no cliffhangers as to what happens next.
There is a big cliffhanger, but it is completely incomprehensible
A school full of supposed superheroes can't defend itself against a few.
Where is the logic? What about all the witnesses? The promises?
All in all, a disappointing end to a season that had a lot of potential in between. It's going to be a tough start for the storytellers to make sense of this again next season.
still didn't explain why Golden Boy killed himself.
This was a huge disappointment. Similar to The Boys, the show is great when it is subverting the genre, but they always devolve into becoming the thing it has been goofing on. Like with no irony, it becomes the X-Men and it immediately becomes boring. Top it off with rushed character changes it makes me rethink the value of the show as a whole.
A lot of chaos going on, anyways still Team Cate.

(Respectfully) we need “The Boys” season 4 NOW!
