Meh. Maybe Doctor Who just isn't for me anymore, but I just didn't see the appeal of this opening episode: too many vague and underdeveloped characters introduced at a slapdash pace, a messy plot, and a handful of threats and tragedies thrown in at the end which no longer hold any real weight because you know that The Doctor will just miraculously save them in an anti-climatic deus ex machina manner.
OMG what a way to start a season!!! Finally the greatness is back! Now we have to wait another week...pure torture!!!
Fantastic episode, an instant classic, up there with the best of the best
GET HYPED GET HYPED GET HYPED
I need another Doctor. This one doesn't work for me!
So is Davros coincidentally dying in 1337 because this episode states that Daleks can't travel through time. Based on the opening with little kid Davros, he used the sonic screwdriver to escape somehow. So killing him will probably stop the creation of the Daleks but if the Doctor actually rescues him maybe the fear doesn't cause him to create the Daleks.
So Missy may have teleported and that was a crazy delay for Clara's synchronized device, then somehow (writers BS) caused the TARDIS to teleport right when it seemed that it was destroyed.
Also this whole plot could retcon 50+ years of Doctor Who and Daleks.
Great episode. Hopefully rest of the season is just as good!
Can't wait for this episode to air
The doctor saving Davros is a dramatic if unnecesary and maybe even annoying idea of interfering with a villain's backstory. Maybe even being instrumental in Davros becoming who he is? Whether through leaving him or leaving him the screwdriver. I really don't like all of this. And Davros is kinda mopey when we meet him.
How did the doctor even intefere with Davros and Skaro? It should be time locked. If it's not time locked then the daleks would always be the scourge of the univerese all the time or even on the verge of taking over it always. That's the true threat of the daleks, that not even the timelords could stop them because the daleks had defenses and measures to stop that from happening, that's how powerful the dalek empire and Davros was, or made out to be.
And with how much time has been played with, it doesn't make sense for the 12th incarnation of the doctor to have interfered with an event when Davros was a kid.
Still, it's drama, i guess.
How is Davros even here? I thought he died in season 4? I guess not.
I like Clara working with unit on the situation.
I LOVE Missy. I love the doctor chose her for his will.
I liked the ending. I think Missy escaped with the vortex manipulator, and i thought she was the one who went back in time to kill Davros, but it's somehow the doctor. I don't think he would actually kill Davros though. If he did then that would be a HUGE moment, especially for a very inwardly compassionate incarnation of the doctor like this one.
I was thinking that Missy somehow saved Clara too, but what if she actually died? And Missy too? That would be big, and the doctor actually changing time to save them. But they made a big deal about the vortex manipulator, and Missy has survived a direct disintegration beam before.
This episode actually made some sense? And Clara was actually consistent and likeable? And Missy's back and not, in fact, in love with the Doctor?? Dare I hope?
Amazing start to the 9th season!
The new season looks promising. I admit I hadn't been looking forward to it, but I now eagerly await the next episode.
Great episode! :) It was exciting and confusing, just the way I like it. Moffat delivers high quality episodes as usual. Can't wait to see how this will evolve. Beginning of something that could be a terrific season. (fingers crossed)
Hey Missy you so fine, you so fine you blow my mind, hey Missy, hey hey hey Missy!
Poorer than some of the older episodes but far far far better than the begining of last season.
Fantastic episode ! "MY CLARA"
A wonderful and magic episode, hope the rest of the season follows this way.
I definetly see the light at the end of the tunnel because MAYBE, This season will be AWESOME and you know why? Fucking Daleks, it reminds me of old seasons and that's really, really good. If the plot goes the right way this will be epic. I just hope they don't fuck things up this time.
Pls Dalek, Kill Kill Kill Clara. Exterminate her
This may be a very promising beginning for this series. The writing, is on the spot and I really appreciate the nods to the previous doctors. Can't wait for next week.

Seen the previous season(s), I was really concerned that this one would also suck, but after watching the first episode, well, I see some hope. This season's script seems to be promising and maybe, just maybe, the writers won't screw up this time.
