I'm sorry, but that's not how random number generation works. Unless you've done a terrible job of it.
I really liked the first few episodes of this series and was quite happy that Moffat didn't ruin it (I didn't like 'Knock Knock' either but that was written by someone else). I don't know if I didn't pay enough attention, but I thought this episode was very confusing. Moffat loves to play with time and things suddenly being a dream or not real (in this case the 'virtual reality') and for me, these episodes are always confusing and not enjoyable (whether that is in Doctor Who or Sherlock or anything else he writes). I'm just very disappointed that he used that again. I'm hoping that the next episodes will be better.
Confusing but entertaining episode. Capaldi hasn't been as entertaining as his first season though. Unlike some, I like him. He's like the sarcastic Dr. House version of the Doctor.

Really, really enjoyed the exchange between Der Who and Rafando near the end...
Dr.: Do me a favor. The Fatality Index, look up, "The Doctor."
Raf: You have an entry, just like any other sentient being....
Dr.: Under cause of death.
[Beeping.... Computer Clicking]
Raf: You do seem to have... an impressive record of fatalities credited to you.
[Clicking continues]
Raf: A truly remarkable record.
[the other guards run away]
Raf: Where are you going? He's unarmed!
Raf: You are unarmed...?
Dr.: Always.
[Computer beeps incessantly]
Raf: You stand alone.
Dr.: Often.
Raf: You're the one who should be afraid.
Dr.: Never.
Raf: Have a nice day then.
[Rafando runs away]
I like Missy actually respected the memory of River Song, of what she meant to the doctor.
Loved the twist in the cold open.
I knew from the setup of the cold open it was a Moffat episode. That and he would be more likely to write an episode featuring Missy and the explanation of the vault.
I thought this was a great episode. We had mysteries throughout most of the episode, and they all got explained in the end. I loved it. I loved the doctor being a copy inside the simulation, and fighting back in the only small way he could. I loved the little bit of existential suffering by Nardole and Bill. I wanted more, and i wanted more dialogue from the doctor, but in the end, he was only a shadow of the true doctor. Or maybe he was a fully real one, like his brain was fully scanned and digitized. It's horrifying either way. That this hologram doctor is indistinguishable from our real doctor, and we saw another of his death's. Infact, he had kind of been tortured by this alien species for information previously. I liked it. The comparison to a video-game was a bit heavy handed and simplified for my liking, but i'll take it. I would have liked the much more straight-forward version of that they are real consciousness, but artifically created, and they have to accept their deaths as fake beings. The doctor could have soothed Bill's suffering, but he didn't. Maybe he was so focused on trying to escape or send a message to the real doctor.
I wanted more anger from the doctor at the end, but it was nice to see his reaction. I wanted more anger because it was basically him that was killed. It reminded me of the John Smith situation in season 3, and i thought the doctor would be a lot more angry with the aliens who killed another version of him.
For fuck sake, could they not find someone with even basic computer knowledge to check the dumbass stories they write now.
this was actually a good episode! i wish doctor couldve hit me up and inspired me to go after people out of my league too lol
I don't know why, but it feels like Capaldi is tired this season. Maybe it's the common disagreement between writers and actors, but something feels off about him in S10. You can even sense it in the interviews.
That said I want to see Rowena's supernatural as the next doctor. #GingerAtLast

It honestly felt like a filler episode it sure didn't stand up to the previous Doctor Who episodes I am quite surprised and disappointed at the same time.
