Well I'm never going to be able to look at puddles, shower drains and mirrors the same way again.
As soon we meet Bill she talks about her gay sexuality. Bad representation.
Ugh.
And then it continues with most of her characterization in the first 10 minutes being centered around her sexuality, it's just really bad representation and characterization.
Other than that, her character is okay, as is the episode, but it's the worst companion introduction ever. All the other companion's had stronger introduction's, meaning they were better characterized and more likeable.
Actually, Nardole was the worst introduction, and Bill is the second worst. It's not looking good for season 10, but i'll keep an open mind.
I don't care about the villain. Why is Bill getting emotional over it after having known that woman for a few minutes and shared a few lines of dialogue with?
Ugh.
The doctor was going to wipe her memory. 12 is so unstable.
You know, i'm starting to wonder if i should watch doctor who anymore. Anyone who travels with the doctor is probably bound to a tragic fate, including us, the viewer. The sadness we experience in all of the danger and suffering that happens, and all the tragedy that befalls the companions. I feel like i've had enough of it.
And the doctor keeps doing it, keeps drugging people to become his companions, stealing them from their lives. He keeps delivering to them and to us good highs, but the drug is no longer new for us, and we need good and better stories for us to keep hooked. And the high is no longer as good as it once was, it hasn't been for a long time.
I'm tired of doctor who. I'm not interested much anymore, in the stories, companions, and even this incarnation of the doctor. I think a lot of my passion died with Clara and River. Or maybe i should wait a while before continuing, i'll see. At least Missy is still around.
Moffat gave us such great highs with the doctor and his companions. Really big plot arcs and things to shape the doctor's mythos. Some of it i don't really like. But when he was successful in getting across the weight of events happening, it was great. Same with the RTD era. The RTD era felt so adventurous and intense and interesting and impactful.
And i just feel... As described in the show, that all good things must end. All things must end.
When cracks start showing on an object, it's going to get more cracks over time, and eventually it will break.
I feel... Strange, with mixed emotions.
it was a bit Japanese horror movie like ring and dark water...not bad start not very original though ....acting script was a bit weak...
i love bill so much!!!!!
Fantastic start to the season. Bill seems like she will be a lot of fun.
One of the weaker episodes that I have seen. It just seemed like all the running was a waste of time. The Christmas episode was much better. I'm not sure what I think about the new companion, does she ever close her mouth? She is sexy though. Also can we get some background on the chubby bald guy, please?
amazing start to the new series! Looking forward to what is to come. Bill and Nardole are great.

This has probably been the best episode in the Capaldi era so far. Been waiting a long time for the show to return to its best moments.
Watching this I couldn't stop thinking about the original Pilot.
1) Susan, whose photo we got to see so many times <3, was the one that named the Tardis
2) The ones that happen to find de Tardis, and The Doctor, in the junkyard were Susan's teachers (Ian and Barbara) whereas in this case was a student (Bill)
3) Susan is the one that has that thirst of knowledge. Though she loved Earth she was very curious, just as Bill.
Also, there were what to me felt like hints to the other Pilot this show had: Rose. The idea that Bill was almost not to travel with the Doctor, but he decided to look for her and remind her that his machine also travels in Time (which is part of my favorite headcanon about Nine and I'm glad to see it protrayed here: the idea that between invitations, Nine travelled alone and decided that he needed a companion and went back to look for her).
And, last but not least, the chips. Remember how much fun Rose and Nine had eating chips? And how Rose also worked in a school cafeteria serving chips? And how she, like Bill, had a regular job, came from a working class and was, by The Doctor's standards, sometimes a bit slow at first?
Finally, I never thought we'd see the time when we were reminded that the habit of erasing someone's mind without their consent was absolutely not right. I already love Bill and her determination.
I also love the bit with Clara's song, which I also thought we wouldn't hear again.
Overall, sooooo good. I just hope the season continues in this line.
