Yeah Daniel’s son is a jerk but it was about the new kid more than it was about him. Hopefully leads to the new kid kicking his ass lol.
Johnny Lawrence is toxic masculinity personified.
My new favourite rule: No be there
I’ll be the lone dissenter and say I’m not as much a fan of the new Kenny character. The show doesn’t need another pair of pair of protagonists/antagonists. It has enough!
I’d have preferred that existing characters get more screen time/back story instead of using time to flesh out a new character. Like more of why the Park guy is such an asshole.
Johnny remains one of the best written characters on the show. They just nail it!
Larusso's son is a funding idiot. Why they add his story? Pathetic
Much better at least some action and Ruso gets it now :)
Awesome, I really missed this show :)
LOL, the game intro (dungeon lord) got me! xD Quite unexpected and cool - I even like the music :D
The "new kid" seems cool (gaming, dance moves, fancy, etc.) yet he has a bad first day due to those mean kids... :o It's also concerning that LaRusso's kid is involved. But then again Antony ("Ant" :D) was always a problematic kid, at least compared to Sam.
Johnny and Daniel continue to be super entertaining <3 Jonny casually "ruining" Daniel's day with that machine was already funny enough :D It's just so funny how different they are. Their deal to train each other was great. Daniel: "No, don't need to shake on it." (of course Johnny had to spit into his hand... :D)
Amanda, Tory, and Kreese are also always entertaining. Tory was quite stupid (didn't follow Kreese's hint to play it smart) and got fired as a result. Quite ironic how Amanda didn't want to cause a scene and everything escalated just because Tory couldn't acknowledge that she got the message. She's really having some issues...
It's also very interesting how Antony and that new kid are into the same girl. Just like Daniel and Johnny were into Ali. And of course her name, Lia, is an anagram of "Ali". Coincidence? I think not :D Let's see if that can end better than Daniel and Johnny. It already doesn't look that way though.
Daniel quoting Mr. Miyagi that the best defense is "no be there" and Johnny complaining how Daniel couldn't help him with his English was great :D
The best part of that was when Johnny and Daniel went to the ice hockey match, Johnny caused some trouble, Daniel tried to de-escalate the situation, and then Johnny fled the scene when they got confronted after the match. Him returning with that brezel and quoting Mr. Miyagi's "no be there" really got me <3 And Daniel too xD
That new kid really has it difficult. Being alone at home (man of the house) and suffering from mobbing. And those kids have quite some dedication... It seemed like they played that game together for hours. At least Anthony is having some doubts. But not enough to part with his bad friends.
Anoush: "Why do I step into those karate situations?"
Tory: "Thanks for lighting a fire under me. I needed that."
Amanda: "What have I done?"
That "twist" at the end was great! I thought Kenny's brother died (based on that call with his father) but he's alive and it's Shawn?!? At least it looks like Kenny's about to meet Daniel :) ("I know a guy who can help.") However, I wonder if Anthony will also start his karate training.
I love the things they are setting up in this episode. The rivalry between Sam and Tory, the introduction of Kenny. All looks awesome and I can't wait to see what it leads to.
I must say though with both dojos learning each others move set I don't think anyone will have a clear advantage.
