It's Peter's birthday and Paul's pressurising Duffy to leave nursing. Nicky Watson's violent boyfriend Steve, gives her a beating and Kelly tries to persuade her to leave him. Sarah, a young cyclist, injured in a road accident involving a lorry has to have an emergency amputation on her leg.
