This is a horrible show. Nothing funny about it, the animation is unappealing and the characters are too. Weird and silly. And I love animated shows, but this is a really bad show. A shame that great animation shows are now canceled, and this crap is in its third season.
Super dark show, but somehow also really funny. Witty commentary on social issues, mental health, family problems, keeping up with the Jones' and other interesting concepts, creative storytelling and double entendre humor. This show is like low-effect LSD: it won't hit you at first, but stick with it to at least 1/2 of season 1 and I guarantee you that you will be hooked. Be careful if you're easily triggered or saddened - it's dark. I would have rated it 9.8/5 because of how much pickup it needs, but it now has one of the best episodes I have EVER seen on Netflix.
This show really grew on me. At first I found it ok. Good enough for half paying attention but towards the middle really started enjoying it. Went back and watched the first episodes again and found them equally as good. Hoping for another season. Great cast!

Rewatching fully for the first time since it ended. I began watching BoJack in summer 2016 and followed religiously since then. I think BoJack Horseman has got to be a classic. Its humor is fine and ageless. The details are never-ending and so meticulously planned. This show is deep, so deep and touching, and every time an episode ends and the "Back in the 90s, I was in a very famous TV show" line plays, your heart sinks. I feel like no matter what I write, I cannot fully express how perfect this show is, or how much I love it.
That was amazing. I'll admit though, I dislike the artstyle and the Hollywood-lifestyle ugly vibe. It turned me off, cause I thought it was kinda ugly, like that show "Ugly Americans", some time ago held on Adult Swim, but it was a nice show. It was a show about a horse...man going forward toward a trainwreck, but you couldn't look away, cause it was somehow mesmerizing, reminded you of your own life abit and it had this deep relatable philosophical message on life, even if it was nihilistic, while making you care. The show Bojack Horseman is like the character itself, where it's ugly and you feel like you wanna look away, but you stay, cause you care about what's going to happen next and you think it just might have a good ending. That's why it's amazing. It's able to portray all that, while being mostly nihilistic and ugly, but it somehow kept my interest and made me care, all the way up to the end. I feel I could only recommend this show to certain people, but yeah, it's an amazing show.
One of the most profound, heartbreaking shows ever made about an alcoholic talking horse who used to be a 90s sitcom star. BoJack Horseman hits you hard with issues of trauma, addiction, and the idea that, yes, we are all human, yes, we all make mistakes, yes, we are products of the damage inflicted on us, but also, yes, what we do to ourselves and to others matters. It matters a lot.
way deeper than it might appear from its aesthetics. really makes you question a lot of things but often has an uplifting overall message. one of the goat animated series and a 10/10
A show that it so good you have to see it to believe it. Ostensibly a comedy, this show deals with some of the heaviest aspects of our society and how people adapt to it. A show has never been so honest without being sappy, so true without being facetious. Watching "BoJack" is a therapeutic experience with enough quotes to last you a lifetime: "When you look at someone with rose-coloured glasses, all the red flags just look like flags"; "Every day it gets a little easier, but you have to do it every day. That's the hard part"; "I thought for sure I was going to drown, but then I noticed my air bubbles floated up and I knew which way to swim. When you find yourself lost and you don't know which way is up, it's important to breathe".
But let's not forget the comedic aspect because "BoJack" is also one of the funniest shows ever made. This show embodies the idiom that comedy and tragedy are two sides of the same coin - the highs are so high because the lows are so low, and vice versa. There are funny show, and then there are funny shows. Shows where you don't just laugh because something funny happened, but because someone just pulled off the perfect joke. And then they do it again. And again. The passion behind every aspect of this show oozes off the screen. "BoJack" was a cultural milestone that will be looked back upon as one of the greatest comedies of all time.
One of my favourite shows of all the time, I keep returning to it now and then, it never gets boring. The characters are very good-written and have relatable struggles and insecurities, they're not perfect and some of their decision can make you hate them, but in the end you still remain sympathetic of them.

Bojack Horseman is one of the greatest TV shows out there. It's not my favourite because of its depressing nature, but I love it from the first episode until the last. There are so many good lessons and quotes from this show.

I started Bojack Horseman_ about 4 years ago and stopped. At the time I wasn’t in an emotionally stable place in my life and didn’t have the strength to carry a show that reminded me of my mental issues.
Years later, the show came to an end and I finally brought myself to watch it, I have never been so happy about watching a show. Usually when you finish a show you will have mixed feelings and things need to settle in your mind. People have been calling me crazy, saying I’m exaggerating, but I am extremely serious when I say this: Bojack Horseman is my favorite TV show of all time.
Never have I experienced a show where I never felt disappointed or dissatisfied, not once. Bojack is a show that understands how to treat and feed their audience. It’s a show that doesn’t pander to us or treat us like idiots, it expects us to be emotionally prepared and to be smart, to understand its world and characters.
The seasons one up themselves, getting better and better. It understands how to defy expectations and keep the story telling fresh. You truly will never know what is about to come, the show will you keep you guessing and questioning how the story can ever continue.
A show is only as good and impactful as its characters are. The Bojack gang is one of my favorites ever. From Bojack to Princess Carolyn, these characters are incredibly lovable, flawed, yet it’s somehow impossible not to root for them, not to be invested in their stories.
All of their arcs come together beautifully at the end, I was so satisfied. Bojack is so flawed and broken, but his journey is one I was so invested in. I love him as a character. Todd is beautifully written. One could think he serves no purpose to the show, but he is the definition of comedic relief. He is the feel good character of the show, he is the character who will make you smile the most.
Princess Carolyn is such an interesting strong character that carries her own weight. I loved her and I loved all of her stories. Mr. Peanutbutter is so sweet and funny, showcasing those truly nice people around you. Finally, Dianne is such a flawed, heartbreaking character who wants to be happy. She wants to do good by everyone but her own insecurities get in the way, I love her.
The writing is beautiful, the music choices are great. This whole show made me feel like someone finally understood what depression, addiction and self destructive behavior actually looks like. It’s crazy that it had to come in the form of an animated horse, but it is what it is and I couldn’t love it more. Thank you so much to Netflix and the creator, this show was an incredible, beautiful journey. I am in love, might rewatch it for sure.
It's a ride. A ride of zany misadventures, unbelievable puns, terrible decisions, nihilism, and utter depression. I came into Bojack Horseman late into its life cycle. I watched the first season several years back but didn't catch up with the rest until season five dropped last year.
I am a person who really attached myself to this show. While I never saw myself in Bojack completely, I see myself in pieces in many of its characters. I see the missed connections, the bad timing, the sadness engulfing life's small moments. But what always made Bojack Horseman so special was its perseverance. It never quite lets things stop. There's no easy solution, no easy out. Life is messy. It's insane it took an animated show about animals living equally among humans to really nail that, but here we are.
I can't really express what this show has meant to me in the year that I've been engulfed by it, so I'll leave you with a quote:
Life's a bitch and then you die.

god, this fucking show. i've watched it two times through and through, and i'm still not over it. might even watch it a third time, pending how much of a productive person i want to believe i am. this show truly gives me everything i want, which is to laugh and then feel like i'm being punched in the gut. can't wait for season 5, this is one of the few things i've watched that truly gets better with each season. great writing, great characters, great soundtrack, great everything, great doesn't sound like a word anymore, great
Bojack was the star of a hit tv show in the 90’s but now he’s a struggling actor living in Hollywood. Considered by many as the animated tv series of the moment, this is a surprisingly clever and entertaining comedy with an unexpected depth. The jokes become smarter as the season progresses (approaching the entertainment business and real issues in the media) but the humor can be subtle at times, which is not bad in this case. Strongly recommend it.

I don't really know what to say about this show. I'm gonna try, anyway.
This is one of the most hilarious and most depressing things ever. You want to call it a comedy, because of the witty and funny dialogue, but you can't, because each episode has one idea, one subtle but major lesson for the viewers. Maybe it's a brilliantly constructed campaign for feminism, maybe it is a brilliant look at dementia, or suicide, or drinking. There is always a constant though - it is brilliant.
One of the biggest standouts for this show is its characters. Just the five main characters are some of the best I've ever seen - Todd, Princess Carolyn, Mr Peanutbutter, Diane and of course, Bojack Horseman. All five are broken in some way (some much more in others), and it's so engaging to watch how these people deal with highs, lows, and how they change/don't change. Bojack Horseman himself is hands down the most interesting character I've ever seen in television - you can't agree with his actions, and you want to hate him for his worst moments, but you can't help but root for him and his ability to change. And he does - and doesn't.
While the first six episodes aren't that great, the rest of the series (and I mean the rest) is absolutely the best stuff out there. In my opinion, the seventh episode is where things really start, and if you watch the eighth episode, The Telescope, and you still don't like this series, then this probably isn't your thing.
If you are willing to watch through some of the most depressing, yet astounding, episodes ever, this is the show for you. I think that really everyone needs to see this, if they are willing.

Painting a portrait of a complex person with undeniably repulsive character traits while not being overly dismissive of them due to a narrative's need to idealise, at least to some extent, its protagonist is what Bojack Horseman does best. Occasionally the hybrid animal-human setting brews up some genuine humor but often the show is a bleak and unapologetic look at how bad systems amplify the unsavory traits of humans while simultaneously rewarding the individual with material benefits.
Funny, dramatic, relevant, depressing, and soul-crushing. Gets better every season.
BoJack Horseman is an intelligent and multilayered tragicomedy that follows a “selfish, narcissistic and self-destructive” middle-aged horse in his struggles with addiction and depression after losing his fame as an actor in the 90's. It's mostly a light-hearted black comedy that aims to be a sharp satire of the show business and at the same makes you reflect upon delicate social issues, your own mental health as well as the meaning of life or lack of it, without lapsing into easy moralism or getting too heavy-handed. Each season always has at least a handful of brilliant episodes that are entirely focused on exploring the characters' personalities and many times even experiment with visual storytelling and animation techniques as you would expect an arthouse film to do. Sometimes they hit really hard, bring you close to tears, or at least make you raise a few questions about yourself. Still, it's sad that this is just about 25% of the whole show. The rest is just mild jokes and silly gags that might have looked funny on paper, but unfortunately miss the mark too many times on screen. There are also too many episodes that are built around a single idea or simple gag that wouldn't get developed properly nor bring to any outcome whatsoever. I don't think there was a single bad episode in the whole series, but a bit too many mediocre ones.
Now I'm in agony. Please let there be a season four.

Love Bojack! The humour for me is bang on, although Archer is great too I prefer the wit and wordplay used in Bojack.

This is a show about generational trauma (before Coco and Encanto mind you), self-loathing, undirectly hurting other people and breaking toxic patterns. All while cleverly wrapped in jokes, puns, and very pertinent social commentary of the issues of the current era such as abortion, inequality, depression, and the pressure in the show industry.
I love it. The show surprised me with its deeper meaning at times.
This show is truly heartbreaking yet hopeful and inspiring at the same time and perfectly sums up existential nihilism and depression well making me fall in love with a self destructing, adulterating, arrogant, washed up asshole, self sellout and borderline murdering, addict while making me laugh harder than a lot of shows I’ve seen

This Show is the most dark, sad, depressing Show I've ever watched. I don't cry easily and i get bored so fast with movies and shows. BoJack Horseman was the only Show I've watched without skipping a single Episode, I've watched every second of it with genuine emotions. I've spent days and weeks and now even years thinking about some of the lines. I've laughed so hard with characters and at jokes and events. I've lived with BoJack Horseman. He represents the Bad in all of us and i love it. This Show ruined everything for me, this show ruined me. I'm happy to say I've learned something (finally i learned something really valuable from a movie/show) and it's gonna be with me for the rest of my life.

No show has made me laugh more from the humor and more existential with the drama. It's a journey unlike any other lead by a lumbering drunkin' steed.
One of the best animated series aimed at adults ever. The plot may be somewhat of a slow start, but if you like the humor it will carry you through it. And soon enough it gets much deeper, harsher and real than you expect. But this is a dark show with a soul in it - the messed-up shit isn't there just for kicks. Bojack's arc ends up being unexpectedly compelling and carefully done. This is an emotional ride worth it all the way through.

How is this show so goddamn depressing yet so entertaining and funny?
One of my favourite shows on Netflix and is deceptively deep. It took a little while to get into but then I enjoyed watching season after season of how the writers beat up poor Bojack and crushed him further and further into the ground.
For me the peak was season 5 and in particular the Free Churo episode which was such sensational writing to keep you enthralled for the whole episode while not that much really happens.
Season 6A was somewhat of a come down and upon learning that it was the final season I was glad. 6B was an improvement but I feel that in some respects the show just petered out. If nothing else it gave closure to a number of storylines but I prefer to think of season 5 as the real end (it clearly wasn't but I can do what I like!)
It's now a matter of time before they make a spin off series, maybe some nonsense about Todd and his silly adventures or the depressing adventures of Diane as she deals with life as a Vietnamese American writer with a Caucasian American voice.

The show is not bad, it is actually quite good but it is extremely overrated. And the ending is just plain and boring a really BIG dissapointment...
Very good show for a cartoon. Gets pretty real sometimes, with a bit of fluff added in. There's definitely some mind-combabulation that happens during the show, and it touches on topics that aren't for the faintest of heart. On my to-continue-watching list!
This show was definitely what I expected when I first started to watch it. It was so much better. I've never had a show simultaneously make me laugh and hit me right in the feels. I still think about a lot of the episodes and just how accurately they depict some of the hardest subjects that we humans sometimes have to tackle with.
One of the best Netflix shows I've ever watched and I recommend it to just about anyone I meet. Can't wait for future seasons.
The only show that I have seen to successfully feature an original song entitled "Get Dat Fetus Kill Dat Fetus" and a harrowing depiction of drug addiction and grief within the same season, so points for that
Favorite show of all time!
A show about a horse-man who is a washed up actor trying to stay relevant. A lot of different and interesting characters and it treats the anthropomorphism as just part of the world. The show is really depressing at times but each moment of joy is so heartwarming, it's worth it. Season one isn't the best, but the show really gets much better as you go on.
I can't wait for season five. Brilliant show with So many layers.
Deceptively disguised beneath the veneer of a narcissistic, fame-hungry Hollywood diva has-been is a show about how destructive tendencies have long-lasting unforeseen consequences. Unlike anything else on TV, leaps and bounds above almost anything animated or comedic at the moment.
BoJack Horseman is an outlet for anybody looking to get in touch with their depression.
Great show, gets better every episode. If you liked Archer definitely check this one out too.

This show ruined television for me. Any other show and all I can think is Why am I not watching BoJack instead? It took me about half a season to start enjoying it, but once it hit me, it hit me like a long, hard kick in the urethra. Really, this is the only TV show that regularly brings tears to my eyes. I've become completely obsessed with it.
