I really liked the idea of it (getting blackmailed and not knowing what your blackmailer actually wants) and the plot twist at the end was great! I honestly didn't expect that. By now I'm used to paying attention and I usually have a lot of theories and try to find subtle clues, but somehow I didn't see that one coming. I was so naive and thought the main character was really just masturbating. I just started to get skeptical when he even agreed to rob a bank, but I still couldn't figure out what's exactly going on.
By the way, if you rewatch the beginning you might notice the scene with the little girl which seems creepy in retrospect. But at that point I really thought it was to show that he's just a nice young guy.
Well done. Another plot twist I haven't seen coming like that. And of course the acting was incredible again :)
Brutal at the end.. but that's exactly how it would probably unfold. People are assholes.
This episode is really good, with a end twist that is not only shocking, but adds a new layer to the story, turning upside down what we understood and how we saw the characters.

it's surprising how Black Mirror can be addictive and hypnotic even with its completely unconnected episodes.

I got so caught up into this whole twist by the end, I just realised that on top of all that, Kenny is now a murderer too. This was too heavy, even for this show.
And there I was thinking he should just go to the police instead… anyway this is why you can’t negotiate with terrorists.

I wanted to binge watch this season as I do with all Netflix shows but these episodes just feel to real and I time in between to digest them.
Was SO uncomfortable watching this for the whole episode. The tension, all the way through! At first sympathising with Kenny, and then of course REALLY not!
I think the episode worked so well because they force you to identify with Kenny, and then you feel dirty for feeling that way when you find out he's a paedophile.

Well everyone is confused on the comment section, they are all pedophiles including the "breath through your nose" guy the driver he was supposed to meet with an underage, So that hacker guy trolled them to the extreme, That's what makes black mirror awesome, this episode made you feel attached to the characters and feel sorry for them at the end you release they are all pedophiles, That is some messed up shit but bravo to them for cornering the viewer on the edge of the highest mountain
Okay. First of all, the literal worst part of this episode is the fact that I had to witness the unironic usage of the troll face in the year of our lord 2016 AD, which is more or less unforgivable. You already stole a plot from Community (https://trakt.tv/shows/community/seasons/5/episodes/8) for Nosedive, Brooker. You're letting me down.
Secondly, the age aspect of the crimes committed was made way, way too obvious in the opening, and it destroyed any possibility of a thrilling twist. I didn't end up feeling disgusted with myself because I already had suspicions about what Kenny was doing, so I didn't sympathise with him or those who had been put in a similar situation as him as I assumed the same of them. Had Kenny's interaction with the little girl been left out, this episode may have had (what I assume to be) the desired effect.
i will cover the webcam every time i masturbate from now on.
What happend to all those smart stories? 3x02 has a terrible plot and this one is even worse. I still feel pity for each of the "victims", maybe 'cause their "failures" didn't triggered me that deep, that i could forget the ridiculous story.
moral of the story, never download untrusted software from internet, and for the love of god, cover your webcam and phone's camera.
wait I'm confused... I thought Kenny was only watching like, porn, not child images! I thought the guy who he had to fight did that, could it be possible that because Kenny lost the fight the pedophile got off with the "prize money" and the pedophilia got turned around on Kenny because let's be honest, him masturbating to normal porn wasn't a good enough reason to put him through all that...
I wish that was explained a bit more. All in all, a great episode and if Kenny really was a pedophile, he deserved everything he got and more.
This episode made me angry, it still makes me angry, it will never stop making me angry. Don't make any mistake though, I'm not angry because I wasted my time watching it or it did anything supremely stupid. It made me angry because it wanted to make me angry. It beat me, Episode: 1, Me: 0. Only something really well put together could make me angry like this episode did.
I feel like it's only me who find this episode stupid. okay, that's like choosing between owning up to your own shit or doing something that would actually indict you. okay, maybe I just don,'t feel enough empathy rn.. :/

An interesting episode, I didn't expect everyone's secret to be leaked after all but that's fair and square as it should be.
Alex Lawther is a great actor although I've only seen him in disturbed roles so far lolz.

Dumb kid freaked out because he did something indecent and trusted the words of some rando on the internet. Moral of the story: learn some digital security, he (and the other freaked out adults) wouldn't be there if he didn't give away his number very early in the beginning.
But seriously, this episode doesn't do it for me. I don't get people's fascination toward the episode. So the kid was supposed to look at CP, but how do we exactly know this? The webcam doesn't record the screen. Who knows if the hacker implanted the photos and made false claims? There was also no proof that "Mindy" was underage. All we know the guy got catfished into hiring hookers.
Acting is fine, but the thriller is quite bland throughout the episode. People on the screen are anxious but there's no tense. They are threatened by something but I don't really feel the real risk. Perhaps because there's no way to guarantee that the hackers will keep their promise, and turns out they really don't, so there's no stake for me. Just block them and face the risk rather than having to go through all that.

Well, the twist with Kenny was pretty obvious. I mean just in the restaurant in the beginning.
While technically hackers can do this. There's no way for them to definitively prove what you were looking at. I think that's why the hackers wanted the pedos to fight in the end. They could escape jailtime for the former, but for murder, it's on video.
I'd say that's a nice touch from the writers, that's why I rated this 10.
If people are confused that Kenny was actually a pedophile, then the writers and/or director of the episode made a poor job... 'cause it didn't translate. It was like an afterthought.

What did the protagonist think that was going to happen? At the moment, the loosest
The lead's performance and final revelation pack some power, but an earlier, harrowing episode did this wayyyy better, especially as the motivation behind all this is revealed. It adds some disturbing social context in that episode, but only has just pure goosing empty nihilism in this one.
I HATE the end. This is literally so dissatisfing, like, I wanted know who the blackmailers were. Also the fact that there was no Happy End was on the one hand kinda unsatisfactorily but on the other hand it was nice since we almost have every time a Happy End.
The story is well built and I was shocked to see that Kevin was looking at pedophilia online, even 'cause I thought he was, like, 15. Although, this episode lacks meaning. The storyline is based on justice, using tech as a way to deliver it and put it in a context. In this episode, technology is just a secondary character.
Personally, I don't even agree with what they are doing here. The lack of privacy is a cool thing to talk about, but that's not even the main issue being told here. What I am trying to say is that it doesn't bring us a reflection like the past episodes did. The show MUST reinvent itself or whatever; but not sink.
For me, it's just shallow. And lazy.
I'm a little scared. No more declarations.
It felt like a little Mr. Robot inspired, but meaner and deeper I guess.
