Black Mirror: Season 3

3x02 Playtest

Mental note: Always answer your mom's calls

I was getting a little impatient for things to go full throttle and then my god did it hit me. The moment when I realised his forgetting things was based on his fear of developing Alzheimer's like his dad shook me. And I thought I had worked out the ending but yet it still managed to surprise me.

Hideo Kojima, is that you?

Best episode of the season :O
The final is disturbing

The first Black Mirror not directed by a Brit. Instead, it's an American so I find it hilarious the entire setup is basically just making fun of Americans.

One of the lesser episodes in regards to thematics and 'ponder time' after the credits but the impressive final 5 minutes is truly exhilarating to the core thanks to some amazing scream acting from Wyatt Russell.

loading replies

Sad, tragic, and scary- basically Black Mirror.

However it's not the strongest episode as this concept has been done before many times, yet neither is it the worst.

Holy shit, this was a masterclass in storytelling.

Great characterisation. Excellent set up. You know everything you need to about Cooper's character to both understand and sympathise with him, even when he's not necessarily making the best choices.

It delivered on the horror story it promised. The episode knew we were expecting some playing with reality Inception-style, and delivered on that as well, while still managing to keep us guessing.

Like all Black Mirror episodes, it had something to say about technology, but it also had something to say about fear. And it's not that Black Mirror hasn't ever had more than one thing to say before, because I'm sure it has. I think it just hasn't done it so elegantly before. Or at least, not for me. This episode was like someone had punched me, but in the good way. It really stayed with me, in a way that most episodes don't.

Pretty slow and predictable, not creepy enough either

loading replies

amazing episode. one of the best of the entire series

loading replies

Yikes. Probably my least favorite of the whole series. Tells us what it is going to do at the outset, then proceeds to do it with some skill but so void of interest, and then end with a series of standard-nihlistic, predictable shocks. What a waste of Dan Trachtenberg.

Holy shit this is the best episode of the series. It was so fucking good, though the ending was not what I had in mind. I think it would've been better if when he saw his mom like that, that was real but like, he thinks it's fake so he starts yelling stuff like, "stop" and "take me out of the game" and you know, shit like that. And nothing happens, so he goes crazy and like maybe kills himself, that kinda stuff.

Worst episode ever. Really predictable and cliche.

loading replies

One thing that's been lost with the (well deserved) rage over the weak sauce ending is how cool the VR whack a mole game was! Best use of VR gaming since Her.

loading replies

I wasn't very hopeful for this season after that 1st episode but look how much I was wrong. I think it's probably the best episode of the show but that Christmas special was really good too.

loading replies

When this arrives, hopefully you can play Re and Silent Hill....
Fuck how long will it take to get to this....

Most insufferable lead actor ever

I did get a small kick out of the Bioshock reference though. Assuming it’s intentional, otherwise a copyright infringement.

“Would you kindly “

For me, the best episode so far. Not only the narrative but also the performance of the protagonist. When at one point he looks so desperate and frustrated with no memory...it gave me chills.
Very good episode.

9/10
Superb Episode
and with 3 characters
from The MCU in this
episode
("u.s Marshall" aka
Captain America,
"Ghost"
and "Hunter B-15")
I knew this episode was
going to be a personal
favourite and a win for me.
With an Outstanding
performance from
U.S Marshall Jonh (Cap America)
Really sold this episode
for me, the range of
emotions he puts in
and his acting range is
actually very impressive.
Loved the game/horror
theme and the story was
so bloody interesting and
the idea and the writing
was quality.
This was a solid episode
and the reason why I
Love this show so much
It's frickin awesome,
Their is nothing else
Like it.

Certainly not the most novel concept out there, but the thrill and horror in the last 20 minutes of the episode makes up for it. The screams and frustration in the last minutes give the episode of a sort of claustrophobic feel until we found out the climaxes in the last minute. It kept me guessing and on my seat until to the very end. Great horror episode.

This episode kept me interested the whole time, loved seeing Wyatt Russell.

loading replies

It's getting more and more haunting..Great script didn't see that coming.7.9/10

loading replies

can i give more than 10 as a grade? why the fuck, this episode is just perfect !!! I loved.posso dar mais de 10 como nota? porque puta que o pariu, esse episódio é simplesmente perfeito!!! eu amei.

loading replies

Mixed reality is just a dangerous and gray area to go to. If you are watching this episode and you are thinking it might includes some horror scenes, it does not. Just few jump scares with sound effects.

loading replies

I knew there was something wrong with that phone!. Awesome ending.

loading replies

It was a fun episode with a poor ending. Didn’t exactly feel like “Black Mirror” to me.

Great episode one of my favourites so cool and so disturbing and sad...I just want to see what happens after the episodes end aghhh

loading replies

Curiouis but predictable, worse than the first

loading replies

the last 5 minutes where he was saying "i don't know who I am anymore".. i didn't like his acting there.. but all in all the story was great

loading replies

This one is a OMG situation throughout the second part of the episode.

loading replies

That's why I don't trust those damn japs! Lol

loading replies

main char was so annoying i literally couldn't have cared less what happened to him.
place i watched it didn't have subtitles, would appreciate it if someone could fill me in on the last conversation which takes place in japanese

loading replies

The most realistic, plausible episode in the entire series, up to the point it's actually a real thing

loading replies

Wow, expected a bit more from the ending.

loading replies

Wow. This episode was really disturbing.

The ending changes our perception of the characters

loading replies

That was a really nice episode. I was already excited when I realized this would be about gaming and virtual reality. I liked the most that we could never be sure what's real and what's fake or if it's all planned or not. The ending wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but it was really enjoyable nevertheless.

Black Mirror is fuckin AWESOME!

loading replies

Awesome shit... My god Black Mirror is back, everybody.

loading replies

It was great, but it seemed more like a copy-paste from that one Rick and Morty episode to me spoiler[/spoiler]

loading replies

Second worst episode of the series so far (worst being "The Waldo Moment"). Weak, contrived plot that doesn't really comment on anything. Predictable, pointless twists. Just not that much going for it.

Maybe 6 is a little harsh. It's still OK... but not that good for Black Mirror.

loading replies

It's a great twist, I can't deny it........ but is becoming so frequent and predictable.

loading replies

What a fucked up... mindblowing episode.
